Case scenarios for a skills day?

    Hey everyone,
I am looking to see if you guys could help, especially you experienced RNs out there. The NICU I am currently working at has recently become a level 3 NICU. The problem is alot of our staff are not comfortable with Level 3 micros. I am trying to come up with a skills day from birth at the delivery to come to the room and admitting...and everything going wrong--you know, HFOV, chest tube, abruption, cold stress etc.
Can you help me write up a worst case scenario for the nurses to go through? Any advice would be great! Thank you!!

Have you guys done STABLE? I don't know if I would start with the worse case scenarios! You may want to treat this like an orientation, especially if they aren't used to micro kids. Do you have any people experienced in a level 3 there? Your education and training should be involved also and you should be setting up competences on vents, etc. don't scare the bejesus out of them!!
