Just a gentle reminder to you all of the forum TOS as this old forum is resurrected again. Please take care to avoid using obscenities, whether starred out or substituted. (Even if they are actual names)

Thanks!

OK everyone,

This is a name I have NEVER heard of and hope to never see on a baby again. Had our unit howling with laughter.

K.I.D.

pronounced Kay eye Dee.

Poor baby is a little girl.

Why didnt the sister in law say something..... She is a L&D nurse...

We had a middle name of Frankenberry for a girl about a month ago.
A few years back, there was a mom who literally named her twins Baby Girl and Baby Boy...because that was how she planned to refer to them for the rest of their lives. Thankfully, our social worker was able to convince her to give them 'proper' names...took a month to talk her into it. She finally changed the names to Dale, for the boy, after our unit manager and Bonny, for the girl, after one of our NNPs.

I used to work with a girl whose name was a very nasty name for vagina and it had a y on the end. With the way we used to shorten names she quickly became cathy so we wouldn't offend people.

other names I have heard
twins jillian and gillian (mum pronounced both with a soft sound so both sounded like jillian)

kaon (boy)
jndah (girl)
ngargle (girl)
blade (boy)

I have to add Copen Hagen for a boys first and middle name. Also a mom who decided to name her kid Furious (she claims to have made the name up)

We had a little 25 weeker that actually had a wonderful nicu course. He was on room air by 26 weeks... never intubated... Amazing. Anyhow his parents named him "Gift". His middle name was very normal, something like Brian. We all called him by his middle name.

Poor little boy.

I have worked with a Beautiful from the lab.

We also have a Essesnce in the lab.

I had a sales call from a Twinkles.

I have had many Ali Ali's Hussein Hussein's, Kassim Kassim's.

I have seen Chaquita on the OR schedule recently.

A girl from church named her daughter Blue Azlyn Phillip (dad's name) don't remember the last name.

Sparkle and Sunday (Sunday named the above child)

I am sure I will encounter more. And I don't work with children.
