Complete list of NNP graduate programs

by babyRN.
Updated Apr 20, 2009 at 12:27 PM by SteveRN21

Hi all,

As you may know from my posts, I'm a NICU level 3 nurse right now, about 8 months in. I'm looking to take the GRE by the end of the year and within five years or so enter into an NNP program. Being a lover of lists and organization, I've done some research over the last few days and have compiled a list of all the NNP programs in the U.S. that I've found.

Ways that I searched

American Academy of NPs programs-
http://66.219.50.180/AANPPublicPages...ramlisting.asp

allnursingschools.com-
http://www.allnursingschools.com/fea...-practitioner/

Google search "neonatal nurse practioner" with limits of English pages-

...

Whoo! Exciting : ) 35 universities with NNP programs! Let me know if you come across any broken links or you know of other NNP programs out there! I didn't include a few that were "linked" to another major university because you have to take the neonatal portion at the major university (on this list) so those websites are a bit misleading.

Over the next few weeks, I'll post my observations from their websites and research I can find about the programs, like is it online? (yuck!), rankings, etc.

I think that UCSF has a NNP on campus. Is there such a thing as an online NNP?

Right you are! It's actually pretty frustrating that there is no complete list anywhere.

I can't edit the post, but here's UCSF's link: http://nurseweb.ucsf.edu/www/spec-ped-neo.htm

There are some online classes (Rush comes to mind) although you still need to do clinicals (you can arrange it in your own place) physically and you still need 2 years of NICU experience, one of them level 3.

Thanks for the great thread! I'm going to sticky this and rename the thread to show up in searches better. I'll also try to add some myself.

I added the new finds (UCSF and IU) to the original post...

My dream is to enroll and complete the NNP program @ Columbia in NYC. I want to work at the hospital where I was once a preemie (New York-Presbyterian).
