100% of all donations will go to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army, which ever charity you decide. We also have links to nursing discussions regarding Katrina as well.
Thanks for your support!

Just announced on the news:

Trained, currently licensed medicalnursing personnel who wish to volunteer their time should call 1-866-KAT-MEDI.

Lodging is not provided. Bring sleeping bags - probably sleeping in a shelter.

Thank you for this great idea! I have been wanting to donate through PayPal but the Red Cross no longer had the link. I love the idea that we can donate one large amount as a group. I have made my donation. Please let us know what the total turns out to be. Thanks Brian and God Bless You.

Default Katrina relief
Thanks so much for setting this account up. I am Canadian and couldn't think of a way to donate or help, so this was a welcome solution. Of course, my heart goes out to those affected, those with loved ones who are affected, and those valiant people doing their best to help. God bless you all.

Nurse Katrina
Is there anyone out there in Austin or elsewhere who could receive and deliver a pkg for me? I would like to make up bags of small items for the children who are separated from their parents or who are living with their family in a shelter. I would have a sturdy tote bag filled with a soft, small blanket, a small stuffed toy, fruit snacks, teddy grahams, wash cloth, towel, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, matchbox car or Barbie doll and a book. I want to provide some comfort to these children, but do not want to try to send it through an organization as it takes too long to get there. I know there are many children in Baton Rouge and elswhere who are in the same situation. i do not have a lot of these, perhaps only a dozen, but perhaps it would make a difference for them. I hope it would make them feel comforted and hopeful for the future. RNTraveler

I live in Dallas and we have many victims of Katrina here. My husband is a firefighter/paramedic for the city and has been volunteering in many of the shelters. I would be happy to assist you in getting your items to some of these children.

Thank you so much-I know this is only a very small drop in the bucket, but it will relieve my mind if I can make at least one small child feel better. Please send private message with your name and address I hope to get the package out Tues or Wed at the latest. Thanks again, rntraveler
