Discuss: allnurses server downtime

Discuss the following announcement here:
As you may have noticed, the allnurses server has been down for much of today. We had some hardware issues which were tough to diagnose and fix.

Thanks to everyone for their patience while the server was down. We hope that everything will continue as normal from here on.

I'm so glad the site's back up and all seems to be working as before. Except I noticed that when I look at the "Past 24 Hours" threads, there are only 4 pages. Usually, there are lots more.

Is that part of the problem or part of the solution?

No one could post, so I suspect our numbers were down .

Quick - get the average back up and work your jones off at the same time!

I was in the middle of trying to post a reply to someone. I got a stranger than usual message when I hit the "Submit Reply" button. At first I just thought it was a problem from my end because I get dumped off my dial up all the time. (We don't have DSL service in my area.) Consequently, I often lose posts I am composing if I don't cut and paste them to a Word document before hitting any buttons that will carry my messages through cyberspace. I was just checking my e-mail for instant notification messages periodically throughout Sunday to see if things were back to normal. Spent most of Sunday looking for something to do. Watched my videos of Dogma and Team America: World Police. Sad life, I know. Glad things are up and running again. I have purpose in life once more!

Really missed having allnurses at my fingertips. Brian, you have certainly contributed a valuable service to nurses and others in the medical field who look to allnurses for fun and for information. Keep up the good work.
