After finally convincing my father that I do not want to pursue a career in business, I am excited to say that I would like to pursue a career in nursing. I have a 3.0 GPA, which I know isn't stellar, but I hope that the fact that I come from Brown will be a help. I will be receiving a bachelor's degree in psychology, but NYU has a program for college graduates, which allows men and women with a bachelor's degree pursue another bachelor's degree in nursing, at an accelerated pace. NYU is absolutely my first choice, and I would like to hear from someone who knows about their program. Do you think that I am a viable candidate? The application requires that I include my GPA, 2 letters of rec, and various personal statements. As previously stated, my GPA is 3.0. I also have a few professors in mind who I know would write me great letters (they are in the psychology department), and writing is one of my strengths, so the personal statements will not be a problem. Do you think that I have a good chance of being accepted? Do you have any other advice for me? Thank you so much for your help and I look forward to hearing from you

Once those are completed, if they are not already done, I'd give it a shot and apply to the school. GPA is only one thing that schools look at and if you have a strong entrance essay, references, and letters of recommendation, I'd say you'd have a good chance at acceptance. Keep in touch with your school and don't let them forget who you are, ask them alot of questions. Keep us updated on your progress. Good luck to you.
