VEEB LPN Program (info request) - Page 3
Register Today!- Jun 1, '07 by LuckyDDQuote from PinkDoveNOPE!
We wll be billed $400 for Supplies.. Includes Uniform, Name pin, Tote bag, watch, stethscope, accident insurance, & graduation supplies!
It's in the paperwork you got with the info for the entrance exam.
Shouldn't this be all included in our tuition. The paper I got was requesting $10 for picture ID. Nothing about being billed for Physical exam; I assume it's being deducted from the $10,000.
So are you implying:
$10,000 total tuition (resident 9500)
$1000 down payment=
___________
9000 tuition
$400 Uniforms /supplies etc.
$10 ID
$500 books
$185 for physical
separately ....Is this a joke?? - Jun 1, '07 by LuckyDDQuote from PinkDoveI'll double check... OOOOh I know which paper your refering too. The paper given during the application process. The very first paper given to us. Dang!NOPE!

I called last week to verify the fee for the physical because it wasn't mentioned on the appointment letter but i remembered seeing it on previous paperwork. I was told... YES it's $185 but we didn't need to bring it on the day of..we'd be billed after classes begin.
The fee for the supplies is mentioned on the blue paper you got in the very first info packet you picked up at the school prior to the entrance exam. - Jun 1, '07 by akaniniI need a loan because VEEB seems to pop up with charging you for everything. I will have to worry about getting good grades and don't want to have to worry about money as well. I got a letter from CHASE about college loans 877-223-8025. They told me VEEB is not in their "School approved list." I called the financial aid guy to tell him that Chase loan department will be contacting the school to get the school added. He stated that would be fine. You may borrow up to $40,000. I have a bachelors and will not qualify for financial aid. I will have to leave my job and struggle being a wife and mother to a six-year old. I've never taken out a loan before and feel that this will be my best choice.PinkDove likes this.
- Jun 1, '07 by akaniniI called Helen Fuld this morning to ease my mind since their program seems to be the quickest way to get the RN through VEEB. The admissions director told me you have to have at least an 85 in EVERY course and be recommended by the faculty. You will then graduate from Veeb in August and start their program three months later in November. You then graduate from Helen Fuld the following year as an RN. Sounds good.PinkDove likes this.

I was on their site today and pretty much gathered the same info! What's that saying about "Great Minds....LOL"!

Yes, I am also considering to try this as well. So greatful you mention this....
Instead of going to Jacksonville w/ a hole lot of debt. I should become an RN,and get a better benefit package offer. Keeping an 85 average for all class is not bad. The credits are transferable???
Jacksonville, will allow me to get my BSN much faster than traditional w/ the RN license. I've been reading the whole board trying to find a faster route. This is wayyyyy better. Thanks guys!
I believe you guys can do it...both of you seems so motivated. - Jun 1, '07 by LuckyDDQuote from akaniniI need a loan because VEEB seems to pop up with charging you for everything. I use to work for JP Morgan Chase their educational loan are not bad. I had to leave to find a part time job for Veeb. The interest rate is fair, like most government loans. Your credit rating is not really as important. It's a standard or set rate offering. That's another you can try, but before requesting the loan....you should really find out during orientation how much they are willing to offer you. Veeb can't tell w/ out looking at your financial status. You might not need to take out to much; this will also give you opportunity to take out for Helen Fluid in November.
Taking out a loan isn't horrible. Just as long as you pay it back when you can. Their are some doctors who will not even finish paying. They will owe the government until death, but you do what has to be done. In addition, once your done you will have the opportunity to pay it back. You are going into a good career. Don't worry take out the loan if you haven't done it before. Trust me. However, if you plan to finish your education after your Rn license make sure you find a facility which will give you educational reimbursement.
You'll find away...I know you will.Last edit by LuckyDD on Jun 1, '07 - Jun 1, '07 by PinkDoveQuote from dimeadozenveeb & helene fuld college have an articulation agreement which would allow you to bypass a few of their admission requirements. new students usually have to have a years worth of work experience as an lpn , pass the reading, writing, & math entrance exam, as well as a written practical nursing equivalency test. with the articulation you would skip all that and (if you pass the nclex-pn) immediately begin the one prerequisite after graduation and begin classes in november.this is great!

their program consists of 4 (10 week) sessions so if your enrolled full-time you'd be an rn in a little less than a year.
