Register Today!- Jan 14, '08 by akaniniI thought the test was extremely easy. I used the study guide for the board of ed's cnet exam. I did not take the cnet exam because I got into VEEB. Two friends of mine passed board of ed's exam also but decided to attend Veeb. They stated Veeb's entrance exam was easier. However Veeb is very intense. You HAVE 2 STUDY!!!!! BEST OF LUCK!
- Jan 15, '08 by BE16So, from my understanding Veeb is a best choice. It is a private School, the faculty will be help better than those professors in Balc. Am i right ?

Veeb gives you everything and more. It is up to you to retain the info for test time. Veeb will start testing in February.
- Jan 15, '08 by BE16Tell me more about yourself? are you done with Veeb?

I took the entrance exam in 2006 and as far as I can remember there are two parts to the exam. First being the mathematics which is generally at the 9th grade level and the 2nd part is a comprehension test. I think they grade you by the overall average and if you were above average you were likely to get an interview. I wouldn't be too consumed in worrying about what you need to know because if you have done well in high school, you should have no problems with this test. VEEB has a great program that helped me become an LPN! Anyways, hope this helps a bit and best of luck to you in 2008!Last edit by JkimLpn on Jan 22, '08

i am going to veeb next week to "sign up" to take the entrance test.
besides getting my credits evaluated at adelphi (3.15) and malloy(2.95) this is my first real attempt at a test!!!
i am interested to see what VEEB has to offer. i would love to get my adn or bsn since i have about 54 units(but no math/science)....but i am 32 going on 33 and its soon to be baby making time and money is very tight as it is for everyone these days.(currently a hairstylist)
i read from this post that the entrance test is 9th grade math and 12th grade english. i am not worried about english...but feeling very silly about what is considered 9th grade math?? although i have 54 college units/credits i was never able to pass college algebra so i am worried about what is on this test. can anyone advise? can you give an example of math questions? is this an hour test??? just curious? is there a fee?
if i do pass this test...there is an interview? what do they ask???
also when i spoke to the woman on the phone they said to bring my birth certificate and high school diploma?
never been asked by any school for birth certificate or a high school diploma before...i dont even think i have a diploma....i graduated and have a transcript..but my actual diploma is probably lost ( i am old it was decades ago lol)
i am not from new york originally ..i have only been here for a few years.... i know nassau cc has a great adn program but sooo competitive....and the private schools are easier to get into but 25k for adelphi is veryyyyyyy scaryyyyyyyy.
although.... isnt veeb for one year somthing like 10-12k with books etc?
since i am not from here i am just worried.... do employers see VEEB as a great highly regarded educational program for lpns?
also ...if you had 54 units.... would you just suck it up and go for the bsn at adelphi or malloy?
like i said i am going to test at veeb but would really like to understand more since i am not able to get much info out the the receptionists over the phone.
thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!xoxo jenn - Jan 31, '08 by akaninican you give an example of math questions? is this an hour test??? just curious? is there a fee? The fee was $150 last year and it may go up. I'm not sure. The math questions are basic addition of fractions. I honestly don't remember the math because the test was so easy. Brush up on fractions and percentages, addition and subtraction, ratio.
if i do pass this test...there is an interview? what do they ask???
There is an interview to see how you look. Why you want to be a nurse....blah....blah...To tell you that the program is stressful and you shouldn't work full time.....Most people who get called for the interview are pretty much in the program.
also when i spoke to the woman on the phone they said to bring my birth certificate and high school diploma? I think you can take your transcript just to pick up the application but I don't know what will happen after that. They are very strict about what they want.
although.... isnt veeb for one year somthing like 10-12k with books etc? YES.
since i am not from here i am just worried.... do employers see VEEB as a great highly regarded educational program for lpns? YESYESYES. Veeb puts out nearly 200 students a year and focuses on making great LPNS alone.
also ...if you had 54 units.... would you just suck it up and go for the bsn at adelphi or malloy? YES but it depends....if you want to spend that much money. Those schools are very expensive. Do you want to be a hairstylist and go to school or do you want to become a LPN and go to school for the BSN?
like i said i am going to test at veeb but would really like to understand more since i am not able to get much info out the the receptionists over the phone. They won't tell you anything... LOL. There are two of them and I think they are trained to not give out much info. Believe me but I know how u feel. I was in your shoes last year. BEST of luck!! Where do you live. I ask only because I tell everyone don't be discouraged by the distance. Most people carpool from Brooklyn or Queens even though the school is in LI! - Feb 6, '08 by BE16Yesterday, i went to Veeb in Nassau County. i took an application for the entrance exam scheduled for the 27 th febrary. However, it is a lot money for i spend like 12 dollars for the LIRR because i'm living in brooklyn. I'm praying a lot so that i can find someone lives in brooklyn because i will need carpool for the location.
