    Not sure if I missed this, but does applying for Priority Registration mean we get to hear back earlier about acceptance/rejections? I'm just looking back at last year's applicants and saw this

    we got our ED notifications on December 20 in the early afternoon. You get an email telling you to log in to the website, where there is a link that you click on to see your decision. There was no pre-decision email telling us what the notification date would be. The date by which you have to send them a check (for $500) to secure your place is January 9, and the admitted students' Visiting Day will be on March 2."

    But with the whole Hurricane Sandy debacle, not sure how it affected admissions processing.

    I don't believe the priority deadline is the same as the early decision plan so I don't think we will hear anything in December.

    I sent my app in by the priority deadline oct. 15. i just got accepted into nyu and don't know what to do. i emailed columbia to see if they could give me an idea of my standing there as i think they have a better program. admissions got back to me and said they aren't publishing decisions til mid-Feb so you'll have to wait til then.

    Yep! Columbia doesn't do ED anymore for the ETP program. Priority deadline just means that our applications are looked at first but we all get the decisions around the same time.

    LaurenMW, I feel like you and I applied to the same programs. Let me guess: Yale, Columbia, MGH and UIC (when it comes out)?
    I also applied to ECU and Regis College.

    So does anyone know how much/little I should get my hopes up for the CRNA concentration? I hope hope hope that I get in.

    I actually only applied to Columbia's program so far. If I don't get in, I will be applying to NYU, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Molloy, Wagner and Pace in March (just for the ABSN portions, I'd go back for a Master's later because the only combined program is Pace and they don't offer psychiatric as a speciality). I'm really pretty set on a NYC or NJ program because I'm trying to end a long-distance relationship (dated for 3 years in college but then he graduated and got a job in the big apple! I am in DC). And by "end" I mean a reunion!

    Then if I STILL don't get in anywhere I am going to apply to UPenn, Yale, DeSalles, Villa Nova, Hopkins, and Quinnipiac for the following fall. But lets hope it won't come down to that

    I was too nervous to apply to additional schools this time around because I wouldn't want to have to make a decision to go there before I would hear back from a school thats in the area I'm looking for.

    hi Lauren MW, I applied to NYU this fall and was already accepted (two week turnaround in processing applications). You should definitely apply for next year. I believe they have a higher acceptance rate than other more competitive schools like Columbia. Unfortunately, NYU doesn't offer much in financial aid. I'm looking at $86000 for my 15-month tuition (excludes other costs and rm/bd). So far, I've only received $2500 in scholarships.

    I have accepted my NYU offer because I won't hear back from my other schools until mid-February (NYU begins late Jan), so it's not worth the gamble to wait and see, if I get accepted/ rejected from everywhere else. This is something to keep in mind when you apply-- I regret not taking that into consideration, because even if I got into my *dream* school, I can't go.

    Hunter and SUNY Downstate Medical Center also have aBSN programs but they are extremely competitive due to their affordability. I didn't even bother applying b/c I knew I wouldn't get in. I read somewhere that Downstate had 400 applicants for their 2010 application process and only accepted 40 students.
