No they didn't but I emailed them reference letters n transcripts when I sent them a thank you email. I called as well but that wasn't helpful. I got a few numbers from some of the other applicants n they haven't heard anything yet as well. They may have been looking for more experienced nurses since I did hear they just had an orientation on the 7th n a lot of new grads were hired in that round (August).

That really sucks. I do know a lot of people that started in October and who will be starting in November. But they were still interviewing a lot more people after. The HR person that interviewed me told me that they hire new grads. He took copies of my license, registration, degree and my CPR class and I had to do the infection control test online as well as the med test.

Maybe we will be in the December orientation so maybe that's why they haven't called us back yet. Let's keep each otjer updated

I was hired recently and am in preceptorship. The nurses are a part of NYSNA, so they hire once a month on a certain day. In my experience, they took nearly a month from when I applied online to receive a call from someone to come in for an interview. I interviewed and the interviewer instructed me to contact HR to proceed with the next steps. I did not hear anything from HR despite calling. The woman who initially called me in to interview instructed me to go down to HR and tell her who I interviewed with. So I went. When I met with her, she then sent me on an immediate interview with another nurse manager because I was seeking a full time position. From there, a week later I got the call from HR that I had the job. She asked which month I wanted to start, either the start date 3 weeks from that point, or the month after.

I was a new grad, just graduated in May, obtained my license in July. They do hire new grads for all sorts of specialties as well, such as NICU, PICU, CTICU, etc.

I did not meet with a male HR recruiter, and I did not complete an infection control nor med test prior to hiring. In fact, the med test is a part of orientation.

I hope this gives a little help.

You were hired, NW?? Congratulations!! I still know quite a few classmates that still haven't found jobs. What floor were you hired for? Perhaps I'll see you around. =) And technofreak, you were hired as well? Congrats to you too!

Wow, I just saw this. I tried sending a pm to let you guys know where I will be working and it won't let me. I'm excited albeit nervous about this opportunity. Moochini M how are you liking the hospital so far? Do you feel that your orientation adequately prepared you to start working alone as a floor nurse?

Hi NW! I'm glad I'm not alone. I've completed the pre-employment physical so I guess its just more waiting. I wonder when will we be receiving more information regarding our first day (i.e. where we will meet, an actual schedule, and etc.)?
