Wagner Fall 2013 ABSN

U.S.A. New York

I just submitted my application, anyone else looking into this program? Wondering how much they weigh TEAS scores vs. GPA vs. experience?

I am from Westbury..commuting will prob suck but I already have to take a nice loan out for the program and dont really want to add to that with rent. I will try my best in the beg of the program but if it becomes too much then I might reconsider.

any hear anything regarding the schedule? I called a few times and left messages. The admissions department didnt have any info. When I went for my interview I was told there would be a few different times for each class, do we get to pick?

Assuming you are driving be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to get to class and or clinical sites.

Good news is that Wagner is about two or three exits once off the VZNB (have not come that way since recent construction also being a native Staten Islander know how to get around *LOL*), however the bad news is traffic on SI is horrible these days. It can take sometimes >30mins just to get over the VZNB to the toll plaza. If you don't have Easy Pass I'd get one ASAP, you don't want to be sitting in the "CASH" lanes when things are backed up all they way to Bay Ridge.

I will make sure to leave myself PLENTY of time lol...that is why I wanted to know about class times so I could give it a test run. When I went in for my interview I asked how the classes would work and since there are about 50 students in the program there would be a few different sessions for each class. So obv I would love a later time but I will work with what I get.

Have the EZPass..thanks!

Anyone driving from Brooklyn for the program??

Hi all, I've decided to go to Wagner. I got information in the mail this past weekend about classes and what needs to be bought before school starts. From what I've figured out classes are Mon- Saturday with the option to have Wednesdays off depending on how you arrange it since some classes have a choice of times.

I also haven't been able to find a facebook group yet made for this incoming class. In order to make one I have know at least one person to invite. So if anyone would like to add me on facebook viktoria.kolemba please do that way I can create one and we can all exchange ideas, questions, etc. Just let me know that you're going to Wagner because I'll probably just leave it in my cue of people I don't know that add me. :/

I still can't register for classes so I have to figure out how to do that. I still have a Nutrition class to finish this summer so maybe they won't let me until then. But I hope to soon. I'm excited! Hope to talk to you all soon.

anyone else make their schedule? I orignally had Wednesdays off but not anymore since I didnt realize there were 10 classes to register for. Anyone know if we start the clinicals right away? I remember from the interview that something was starting 6 weeks in.... I could be wrong. Anyone feel free to email me your schedule and i'll share mine!!! [email protected]

Hi, if anyone is interested I've made a facebook group for our entering class. Look for Wagner College ABSN Fall 2013

It'll be great to get most of you on there so we can talk about whatever pops into our heads in terms of questions, concerns, or just our overall excitement before and during the program. :)

Hi everyone! I am currently a second degree nursing student at Wagner. Let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to answer them!

Hi, thanks! I may have met you when I went in for my interview. I was perusing around the basement and lab and chatted with some of you. Is it true about the ATI fee every semester? I got a letter that $400 something was already due. Also how many weeks do you spend at each clinical site? Since its accelerated I imagine not that long.

I don't believe we met but I'm sure we will! The ATI fee is a one-time fee for the entire program. The first week of classes you will receive ATI books for every class you will be taking for the entire program. It also includes the fees for the ATI tests you will be required to take for certain classes like peds and OB.

Your main clinicals will be med surg and a combined OB/peds which will be about 8 or 9 weeks. You will be at the hospital for about 6 hours or so each time and clinical is once a week for each class. (Spring semester you will have med surg clinical and ob/peds clinical) The summer clinicals are 4 weeks each and your fall 2013 clinical will be mostly on campus learning basic skills. Hope this helps!
