Hi mymy1219 I am actually on clinical rotations now. VEEB's is a great school of course just like everywhere you go you will have the negative and the positive side. You are in this program for 11 months and after you are done their is a world of opportnities out there for you so I am making the best of my experience. The teachers are knowledgable the school itself has some updating to do lol but im sure they will in time. The course work is challenging but it prepares you for an RN program if thats the next step you want to take. As long as you keep up with your studies and and stay focused on your goals you will succeed. While you are waiting to take the entrance exam go through this thread its really informative and study from a GED book. best of luck!!!!

    Thank you very much!

I'm a VEEB 2007 graduate, and I also live in Queens. My daily commute to school was usually about 30 minutes give or take but it also depends on traffic situations, so you should give yourself at least an hour before heading out. It's not difficult at all to get there, once you find your way to the southern state pkwy. I took the entrance exam in Feb 06, so I believe they are testing this month. It may be too late but, you should definitely call VEEB and make sure. Most people I knew had a financial aid plan and the advisors are very helpful also. The teachers are excellent and very concerned about their students. Best of luck to everyone and to my fellow 2007 graduates, miss you guys!
    Hello JKimLPN,

I will be starting the VEEB LPN program next fall due to a broken ankle after acceptance this fall and wondering where past VEEBster's careers are now. I've been hearing that LPNs are becoming absolete due to their limited dutie permits. Do you know anything about that and how did you go about your LPN career after licensing and where are you now? Any info or input will be very helpful! I'm a 30yr old, currently a makeup Artist/ office assistant going for a career change and have plans on going for my RN as permitted since it seems it's as hard as getting to the moon these days for someone like myself while getting acceptance to a RN program is already very competitive . I got my GED with average grades after dropping out of high school in the 11th grade and have an AS degree with a 3.3 GPA average in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, where my GPA is only a small factor for consideration to a RN program...

    Thank you very much!

Does anyone know the name of the book to study for the entrance exam. I have a few books but if there is a specific one i would love to know so i can start using it right away

The entrance exam at VEEB is fairly easy as long as english is your first language as far as the vocabulary and reading comprehension portion goes, and you'll be in good shape if you know the basics of human anatomy and physiology. I took A&P I&II some years ago, so that helped and used a nursing entrance exam study book which I can't remember the name of or find at the moment but I think any of them will work and you can also use a GED math test prep help on line. I recommend studying the science and math but don't go too crazy because the VEEB entrance exam is pretty basic and short but timed, which was the toughest part but just focus and don't dwell on one question too long and you'll be fine. I took the entrance exam at VEEB last spring and got accepted to start in September but couldn't, due to a broken ankle and have plans on attending this September. Good luck!

That is so great, I hope we can all pass and get in & then help each other get through the program of it self. This forum seems like it has a lot of valuable information. Does anyone know about how much financial aid gives? & Is it one time or for each semester?
