VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Hi Glady17,

I started and Im almost done but I have a question for any one who has ordered their books tell me if they received Journey Across the Lifespan. I ordered from Rittenhouse and their saying its not ready until october. This seems strange because that book was on most modules and I cant find all the info from Fundamentals in Nursing Care...Anyone that has ordered please help!

It's not ready because the authors did an updated version of the book, if you know someone with the old one you could borrow it and at least start.

When you go to school you will be told what you qualify for, and if any how much you have to pay. In your letter you will be told when the 1st semester tuition is due.

O ok thanx I just wish they would just let us get all the fiancial issues out of the way lol but a quick question for u do we have to buy our own stethoscope or is it provided??

You will get a back pack with one in it that you will carry to clinicals everyday. It has a watch, penlight, and some other things

Hi Bishor....thanks for answering. Yes, I have the same problem. Journey for Lifespan is on back order and wont be available until November. I'm am also having a hard time answering some of the questions because I don't have that book.....so I don't know what to do either. I was thinking about calling the school to tell them whats going on....but I dont know what to do....but dont worry your not alone. If there is anyone out there that is having the same problem as us please let us know......and if possible do you have a solution? Thanks!!!!

Hi glady,i have the same problem too.i called Rittenhouse and told them that i need the book to complete my assignments iwas told i am not the only one having the problem and that Veeb is aware that the book will not be available untill Nov

Hi Missme123,

I checked online and they have the 3rd edition not the updated 4th edition. Did VEEB say it was ok to get the 3rd edition. The author has not published the 4th and it will not be ready until Nov. If its ok to get the 3rd then I'll order that one.

Hello all, the weirdest thing happened today and was wondering if this happened to anyone else. I received two books today and they were replacement books for the Medical Surgical textbook and study guide. They originally sent me the second edition, and replaced them for the third edition, which is what we are suppose to receive.....so I just wanted to give everyone the heads up. Look at your medical surgical book and study guide and make sure its the 3rd edition, and if its not you should call Rittenhouse to make sure they send you the right one!!!!

Ok well I was told from a person who is in veeb now and they said it was fine and more then likely the samething bookwise but now they sent me a new med/surgical guide and text so I'm not sure anymore but I already finshed 2 packets w/the 3rd edition w/o a problem so I guess I will be calling them in the morning

Congrats Class of 2010! Enjoy your graduation weekend. Now that wasn't too bad was it?

Don't listen to whatever the school says, mail out your application for the boards ASAP and register on the Pearson Vue site.

You can take your boards as soon as mid September, don't rush though, relax and study at your own pace. As for the VEEB review class, I haven't taken it, but people I talk to who've paid out of pocket, were somewhat disappointed with it.

What would anyone recomend material wise between notebooks and binders?? LoL bc i dont want to have to many or to few or not the correct things

If I remember correctly, VEEB uses MODULES.....Which are life savers. You won't need a notebook.....maybe a binder to put the modules in, if anything.

Ok thanx and do u know when the loans are processed?? Like if I qualified for both aid and the loans when will I be issued a refund? Everytime I call the school no one answers

I think school is closed for summer vacation..They usually close right after graduation for a few weeks. I don't know about loans. Sorry.
