Hello all,

I was just wondering while we are all patiently waiting for our acceptance letters....lol, what were some of your plans after getting your LPN license. I know that's not what some people might be thinking of, or maybe it is, but I would love to hear what your plans are after VEEB. I am planning to go for my RN defintely. I also was doing some research and I found an online school that you can get your RN after getting your LPN. Was interested if anyone has looked into this as well. I guess it's something to think about and talk about to get our minds off the agonizing wait of our accepatnce letters....LOL.

Nothing from VEEB as of yet!

After VEEB, I'm going to wrap up a few more Pre-Req's and head to PA school. Nova Southeastern University has a two year program.

Definitely planning on becoming a RN! I'm checking into VEEB's articulation programs with Nassau and Helene fuld now. I also just started working on Excelsior's general education requirements just in case I choose to attend there after veeb. (Currently studying for Lifespan development and Human growth exam. So far so good... lol). Definitely would like to keep my options open, but right now Im REALLY feeling Nassau's program! I dunno...guess we'll see. Gotta get accepted into veeb before anything! haha

the encouragement made me feel better...and dont worry i'll be there with you...going/thinking the same thing .

$500. it's very expensive..but what's the alternative. It will all work out, i'm praying for you and me.:yeah:

Your right and after reading Praise2u thread I do feel better about a future at VEEB. :lol2:

My orientation is April 22.

I am praying for you too.

Do you think we have to pay $500 plus $2000 at the same time.

Thats great LilyNurseGOal, I was thinking about Nassau as well, but I wonder if there is a waiting list. I looked at the requirements for the articulation for Nassau, and you must graduate with a 90 average or above, so I guess we will see. I was looking into to Excelsior as well, and I might be heading in that direction since I can do it from home. I will defintely try Nassau but probably will wind up doing Excelsior. What do you think of Excelsior? and I think that's great that you already started your genereal ed classes. This defintely gives me something to think about. Good Luck with that!!!!

I hope not, the letter doesn't say anything about the 2000. so lets hope thats due after we pass the test:up:. Which will probably be in June sometime....so hopefully we'll have some time to save up some cash...

Sounds like a great plan....I too always wanted to be an RN. Hopefully I can get into Veeb and straight to an accelerated RN program. My girlfriend did the Helen Fuld in NYC and said it was difficult, but an excellent program. So I plan on going to Veeb, then to an RN program directly....PRAYERFULLY.

Thanks Glady!!! :)

So far I think Excelsior is a GREAT option! It seems to be a little cheaper than most traditional programs, if not a lot (except community colleges...but Nassau's tuition is kinda up there since I don't live in the county..sucks). I also love the fact that it's possible to finish the program in less than a year, with GREAT DEDICATION THAT IS lol. So far the studying is going ok. Plan on testing in about another week or so. I'm actually going to CLEP Lifespan along with a few other classes (cheaper). I like the fact that u can take ALL general education classes and the first Nursing class without being a Lpn OR without even "officially" enrolling in the school. The second nursing exam is waived when u get ur LPN license. That only leaves 5 nursing classes left and the final exam (CPNE) to graduate. Sounds good to me LOL!!

The Cons of going through Excelsior is that a few states wont recognize Excelsior RNs due to "insignificant clinical hours", which is important if u plan to move. U can look at ECs website to get all the details on that tho.

If anything I think

EC is still a GREAT option. Check it out n let me know wat u think.

Side note: Mailbox still EMPTY! Ugggggh...lol smh

Wow! LilyNurseGOal, you gave some great information about Excelsior...thanks so much. I wasn't aware that you can start taking your general ed classes before becoming an LPN. I guess I will call an advisor to advise me what to do. I'm just curious, what classes are you taking, or which do you need in order to go straight to nursing classes. I have already taken some classes at other colleges, so I'm just curious if I have alot more classes to take. Thanks so much for the info.

Oh and I haven't received anything at all either......uuuuugggghhhh

U can visit the website to check out what Gen. Ed. Classes are needed. I think it's 31 general ed credits and 37 nursing credits. I have a few of the general ed requirements but still need about 5. Most in humanities n social sciences etc.

Thanks praise2u for all of your advice. It is very helpful. So from what I can see, you're basically saying that if we pass the entrance exam, hand in the references, BUT still havn't received the acceptance letter, we should assume we are in, correct?

If they haven't already they will give you a date to bring in your deposit.
