Lisette and Bean88 - Sounds like files are being reviewed in the order they were completed...Good luck to you both and I hope you hear something soon!

In case you want to know, I spoke with******** today and she said they're notifying individuals regarding their acceptance between today and end of next month. So it's definitely going to be a long wait for some of us. *sigh*

I'm seriously getting anxious. Most of the programs I applied for start in May but it seems most of them do not notify until late (some even until March). It seems so little time to make arrangements for things like living situation, wrapping up current job, moving, etc. Oh well. I'm sure many of us are on the same boat.

Good luck to everyone! And thanks for the helpful and encouraging responses.

    Hey everyone!

So I sent my deposit in and am ready to go! BUT, there are still so many things I don't know about the program! Can anyone help me? Here are questions I am wondering about... THANKS!

    - How many students are in the ABPNN program for the May 2010 cohert?
    - When will we hear about financial aid/scholarship awards?
    - Does anyone know if we get breaks the same as the regular academic calendar? (i.e. is our winter break that long)

ALSO, for those of you who already know you are going, have you guys started looking for housing? Are you bringing a car?

Thanks again for any help guys!

Hey Xtina! I thought you were deferring, so glad you'll be there in May.

I think the May class is 100 students. I am not really sure about scholarship notifications...I did the Fafsa4caster to see what I would qualify for and it was not good news!

I sent in my deposit and I did start to look at housing. I thought I'd try to find at least a 2 bdrm so I have the option of a roommate. I was looking mostly at the Art Gallery District and East End, but I think they're 2-3 miles away, and I'd love to be in walking distance so I don't have to worry about parking (I hear it's impossible). Do you know of anything in walking distance? Also, I'd love to find a place with a garage since I'll have my car and I can't even imagine how often I'd have to dig it out of the snow if I park on the street!

How about you? Have you figured out neighborhoods yet? Car? Roommate?

    Hey Kebunt!

They said I couldn't defer, so I decided to skip the job! I mean, why make money when you can take out thousands of dollars of loans, right!?!

I have not figured out anything yet! I am from california, and don't know if my car will be able to make the trip cross country! I was considering the idea of just doing zipcars when needed for clinicals, and then walking everywhere...i currently live in san francisco, and am LOVING not having to worry about dealing with a car! I have just been looking on the housing website for off campus housing, and it looks like there are lots of awesome houses for rent...the only problem is that we start at sort of a weird time. No roommate either! I know zero people in our program and zero people in Rochester! I'm hoping to go check out the campus soon though! Let me know when you figure your stuff out!

    Thanks,
    Christina

I stopped in to drop off my paperwork/deposit to ******* on Friday, and she said the May program will be 112 students, if I remember correctly. The largest class so far.

To those people that haven't heard anything yet: DON'T WORRY, they haven't gotten through the whole list yet with huge number of people that applied. Hang in there, you'll get the call!!!

ALSO after dropping my stuff off to ******** on Friday, I came home and a few hours later my phone rang - it was her (I assumed I had forgotten something or filled something out wrong)... And she says, "So Anthony, how would you like to start on Tuesday?" I was like, "WHAT? In like 4 days?!?" Apparently someone dropped from the January program at the last minute and they wanted to fill the spot. I declined, as I simply am not ready to start at this point (with things needing to be squared away with work, finances and other stuff). But dang what a surprise that phone call was!!

Hahaha wow anthony I would have had a heart attack with that kind of phone call. An accelerated program is so intense, I'm relishing the time I have before it begins so I can get a head-start on all the material!

When I found out Rochester had been calling successful applicants since before the holidays, I was certain I hadn't been accepted. But now apparently they're drawing out the process until the end of February?? Maybe it's because they don't have a waiting list, so they have to wait for people to decline offers before moving on to the next batch of applicants?

I sent in my application right at the deadline, and was interviewed on Nov 30... seems to be a little bit later than the rest, so does that mean I'll have to wait another month to hear back? Bahhh

Thankfully, I've already been accepted to the Stony Brook Accelerated Program, but I was hoping for closure sooner rather than later!!

And Xtina, there are 110 spots in the spring program.

    *slightly off topic*
Why is the name of the person in the admissions office edited out of posts? Just wondering...

Probably in the interest of discretion.
