SW Boces Entrance Exam

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi everyone!! I applied to Southern Westchester Boces and I am scheduled to take my entrance exam next Thursday. I am looking for anyone who has attended or has recently been accepted to the school. Or even anyone who knows anything about the test and scores needed in order to get accepted. I'm getting very nervous about the exam and any advice would be appreciated. I am curious to know how students are accepted - what scores are they looking for? Thank you!

For the people who were accepted into the program did u get to chose fulltime or part time or did they make the choice for youV

Did they check and verify your references?

hey ! They def asked why u want to be an lpn. What does an lpn do. Your study habits..how have you been preparing for this course ...who are your support system...how will you be able to pay for school ...why did u choose to apply to boces lpn program ..those are the ones i remember ! Goodluck ! Do your best !!

do they call and check ur references?

Has anyone taken their exam recently?

This thread is amazing and very helpful. I am so nervous. I hope I passed. The math I felt was a bit rushed and I was stumbling but everything else I feel so positive about. I hope I am not the only one.

This Thread is helpful. Im still confused about scoring though. It seems like its teetering either way. Is it the total score that matter or each individual one? I scored:

Reading: 39

Math: 60

Language: 64

im sooo nervous now, im hoping i can still get in. Does anyone else have scores similar or has anyone received their acceptance letter/call yet?

It's the total, I think you will get your acceptance letter soon.

I hope so, my reading was pretty low and im worried if ill get accepted. were your test scores similar?

Yes, they were very similar. It also depends on how many places are left. The full time program gets filled faster as more students apply for this so I think someone has better chances to get accepted to the part time one.

Thanks, this pretty much relieved a lot of pressure for me.

are you sure it's the total score they look at?
