@brooklyn2012 So we should get our status report from our professors now? Or is it alright to hand it in before 5/30?

Since your program starts on Monday, June 2 with orientation, the vast majority of alternates will be chosen before 5/30. If you are getting an A in that class and you are don't mind bothering the professor, get a status report. Some professors will just ask you to write a status report and if they agree with it, they will sign it.

Anyone still not hear anything at all like me? I decided to go to another school that has orientation the same day and that's only 4 weeks away. Regardless of whether or not I'm going to downstate, I would still like to know if I was accepted...

@sray09: have you looked at your checklist (not the one you submitted your application, the original one that wasn't working before)? if it changed, you might have been wait listed.

so i just got a call from Downstate notifying me that I'm off the wait list and in the program! Not sure whether to be excited or afraid. Classes start so soon in a few weeks!

I just got a call from them too to see if I wanted to be off the waitlist and if I am still interested in the program.. I had already sent in my decline of being on the alternate list as I have accepted enrollment into another school, but seems like potentially hopefully news for others who may be waiting!

Hey explicitj0yee! I got notified too that I am off the waitlist, but just like you I am worried cause its so soon and the guy told me class registration opens up again on May 19th. There is so little time to get everything done. Did he/she tell you anything else important?

But, I am so surprised we got off the waitlist so quickly!

I just got a call also! They said my official admissions packet would be in the mail next week. They said be sure to send in all your transcripts and the health form

Congrats on getting in! im taking classes right now and am graduating at the end of the semester around may 27 and won't be able to get proof of BA degree until jun 1. So he said just try to get all the paperwork in asap.

I already have my blood work and proof of citizenship in.

For anyone that is in the program or happens to know this, about how many students get accepted into the program and will i be able to work at least 1 day ?

Any suggestions for preparation for the program?

@explicitj0yee congrats! From what we've been told by other students currently in the program and looking at the course registrations, they accept 60 students for each cohort. Can't answer about the working though I do know that they discourage working especially in the first two (summer) semesters.

Thank you! Same goes for you! I am currently taking classes too and won't graduate till May 23 with my BS. So, I am hoping that gets there on time before we can start class. I didn't send in my health forms and citizenship proof, but will do asap once I get a hold of them.

I hope we both would be okay with our final transcript. But, congrats on graduating!
