U.S.A. New York

Hey all! Just wanted to lend my support to anyone else who is applying to SB next summer! It's a grueling process :-)):yeah:

Does anyone know where we get the paperwork for our blpodwork and physical?

I was not sure if I am allowed to post direct links here, but if you Google "Stony Brook HSC New Students" you should see the appropriate link and then on that page you look at the links listed under School of Nursing.

Has anyone who's been waitlisted for the 1 year program heard anything??

Thanks so much paco!!! Found it!

chele, no nothing yet :(

Hi everyone. This is my very first post. I am currently on the wait list for the 1 year program. I was wondering if someone who's been accepted can tell me what date the program starts? (I just want to know how much longer I'll potentially be waiting for a decision.)

Yes, I would like to know that as well. :)

For those of you who were accepted, would you mind posting your undergrad GPA and pre-requisite grades? I know Stony Brook looks at students in an overall fashion but I still worry about my GPA immensely. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting, I'm sure it is extremely difficult!!

I heard someone say that orientation for the ABSN this year runs from June 26 to 29. It's still possible that you will be called from the waitlist anytime between now and the first day. One of my classmates just posted on Facebook remembering that a year ago today she was accepted at Stony Brook and was reflecting on a whirlwind of a year (we all just graduated last Friday :) ceremonially that is ... degrees confer on June 30).

Kace, there is no need to compare your GPA with anyone else's because you could have4.0 or a 3.0 and still have a good chance of getting in. No one has been able to crack the code of their admission criteria. I had a 4.0 in my prereqs but much less for my first bachelors ... however, one of my classmates had a couple of C's in their prereqs and still managed to get in. Nothing guarantees your acceptance. I recommend really focusing on your essay, everyone seems to think that is the key to standing out.

hey everyone, i'm new here. I just got accepted into stony brooks 2 year program and thought maybe i could ask a few questions. For others who were accepted, do you know what the next step is? I accepted admission and paid the deposit but i'm not sure where to go from here. thank you all!

Butterfly, we have a 2 yr program page called Stony Brook BSN 2012 go there and you will see all the answers to your questions :)

thank you!!

Thanks, Paco... I have been following your posts throughout but rarely post on my own. My best friend was admitted into the accelerated program, class of 2010. She always says the same thing but of course there is self doubt!! I guess cracking away at that essay starting now would be helpful! Was your undergrad degree in the sciences?
