U.S.A. New York

Hey all! Just wanted to lend my support to anyone else who is applying to SB next summer! It's a grueling process :-)):yeah:

Where'd you hear that from? I was hoping for a different response. I want to figure out my life!

Someone posted on here that they heard that in one of the info seminars.

Thanks for the info. Fingers crossed it'll be sooner. That's a long wait!

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.
Also, does anyone know how many applications they get for the accelerated program. At an info session I went to they said they received 1100 total for both nursing programs. Just wondering how many of those are just for the accelerated.

It was @ 600 ... I got that from the horse's mouth :D

Paco, hear anything from the horse' mouth about when we'll hear if we got in?

Lol the nerves are kicking in to everyone.... my word of advice would be to simply try to enjoy the holidays and expect a decision no earlier than Mid January. Applied to any other programs? I gotta study for the stupid TEAS for downstate

Agree with Emer1234. I HIGHLY and EXTREMELY DOUBT any decisions are going to be made anytime before January. The application deadline was barely a month ago. Your best bet is to forget about the application and anything related to decisions until the new year. Save yourselves some grief and enjoy the holidays!:reindeer: Trust me, SBU does not move that fast with anything!

SBU is pretty unreliable... I've had so many experiences of them losing my paperwork or claiming they never received them even when I hand-delivered them. In fact, one year, when I studied abroad, my roommate couldn't because SBU lost her paperwork... she was upset, but there was nothing she could do about it because it was already past the deadline. So keep on top of what you submit!!

Yeah, my newly acquired husband is getting sent to Afghanistan so for the time being our focus is the cross-country drive and seeing things along the way and just spending time together before we are pulled apart.

So there are other things to focus on......Even with that-- I still cannot help but "think" about SBU application:)...For all of us, it is just such a pivotal change that we cannot help but focus on it--it impacts the entire course of our life, the timelines of when we pursue further education to MS level and beyond (which is what I would be doing)...even where you end up living and settling down. I think we are all pretty awesome though to do this with all the change that comes with it.

But yeah, they told me end of January/February when I called them and at the info session I went to.

HEY ALL! Hope everyone isnt driving themselves crazy! Everyone seems so sweet, I hope we all get to be classmates this summer! I too was told we won't be notified until "around" January, so I hope everyone can relax and enjoy the upcoming holidays! This year may be a 55 degree Christmas if we keep at the weather trend! :hrnsmlys:
