I am Canadian and we no longer offer the RN program only the BScN program and only hire bachelor degree nurses. The remaining RN's out there must obtain their degree within a reasonable time frame unless they were "grandfathered". My question is, is there any indication in the near future of the States phasing out RN's, similar to Canada?

I do not think that the U.S will do that in the near future. The reason that I have to say this is because the U.S has a nursing shortage, and if the U.S does this, it would jeopardize the health system to its society.
