In the process of putting together my application for PBISN 2013. Who else is applying? I'm curious to hear from current students and recent grads--what was your background? Your NLN scores/GPA? Thoughts on the program?

Good luck everyone!

Mailed all my paperwork in on Monday! That's 5 schools I've applied too. Hopefully I get into one! lol

Ha, I got you beat at 6 ;) I'm totally in the same boat---someone let me in!

I applied to 5 schools as well. Did either of you apply to Touro College? They are transitioning to a BSN program this summer and I already got my acceptance.

I had no idea! Are they accredited?

They aren't accredited and I fear jobs won't recognize a school that isn't.

Touro? They are accredited right now as an ADN program and the BSN program accrediation will be awarded in June.

I just browsed their website and couldn't find any info on the program, anyone have a link w/ more info?

They are accredited by the department of education but not the ccne or the nlnac.

Touro College | Nursing Program

Saw that and now Touro has their website set up is very misleading. *ALL* places of higher/secondary education must be accredited by NYS in order to be legally open and accept students. Saying they are accredited by the State means something but not that much.

Thanks for looking that up. I am not sure how much that weights and what changes when the accreditation goes through in June. I do know that their graduates have gotten jobs at top hospitals from people that do not work at the school. They are on rolling admissions so I applied just to have another option and I heard back within 2-3 weeks.
