PACE CDP 2014 Admissions

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi everyone!

I have been following past threads on PACE CDP 2010- 2013. I will be applying to the program for Spring 2014. I wanted to start this thread for everyone who will be applying for this upcoming cycle!

I would love for us to share our experiences as we commence our application process/ support group ( >___

For those who are already in the program, I would truly appreciate if you guys can share your experiences and credentials.

A little background on me:

I have a Psychology B.S. with an undergrad GPA of 3.8. I have been working as a paralegal at a law firm for the last two years and after doing a good amount of soul searching and re evaluating what I want to do in life and where I'm now, I know for a fact I want to become a nurse and eventually a NP. I have so much appreciation for the unsung heroes in the hospitals, clinics, and other practices. Thus, I will do whatever I can and work as hard as I can to become one.

I will be completing my remaing pre- reqs by this summer: A&P1 and 2, and Microbiology.

Good luck to everyone! Please share!

:)

PACE is my number one choice as of now.

i had to call them because i had not found out either... they had lost my stuff without even telling me. regardless, i wound up interviewing very late and getting in very late. other people i know in my class literally found out the day of orientation that they were accepted, and class started 10 days later. be proactive and call, because they won't call you if they lost your stuff. but, beware, read my comment about the program. it's really not an ideal place to be. i suggest somewhere else!

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Can you please tell us if you are in the one year or 2 year program? And if you don't mind sharing was was your GPA when you applied to the program? At the open house last year they seemed very selective! How are you doing in the program? And why is the library closing at 8???? I graduated from pace a few years ago the library in NYC closed at 11 pm and there are 24 hr study rooms, what's the deal with that? As for the computers they were okay. I guess times have changed. It sucks the faculty is like that!! I majored in BIo and some of the prof. were not approachable... It's sad to hear that even in nursing they are like that!!! PACE is very expensive and there is no financial aide aside from loans for the CDP program. But you seem to enjoy your clinical courses so please share more info on your experiences. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Belladare!

I did see your Pm and I did respond. I will be going to NYU. I live on the Lower East Side so commute would be easy at NYU. I was waitlisted and I was initially heartbroken because I wanted to stay in the city. And the negative experiences some students have at Pace really got me questioning. When I went on the interview, everything looked a bit outdated.. I hope I'm making the right decision.

May I ask what are you doing now? Did you find a job after graduation?
