U.S.A. New York

Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?

I am also in the process of applying I am super nervous. I have experience, great recommendations and also a decent personal letter but my GPA is between 3.00-3.50. I'm worried that my GPA will ruin my chances. Does anyone know how they base their acceptance?[/quote']From what I know they base their acceptance on everything you just mentioned. GPA, experience, letters and personal statement.

To those who already applied,
When you order an official transcript to be send to NYU
how long does it approximately take ?

Just got my application in--just like many, having a hard time getting my letters from the folks writing them (so frustrating--I gave them all deadlines in OCTOBER, can't believe they're dragging their feet...oh wait, yes I can ). Sort of frustrated they only give you 500 words for the essay--I had one that I wrote for another program that I was really proud of and I had to hack it apart and put it back together. Hopefully it's still good enough, oh well...guess I'll find out eventually.
If anyone speaks to them about getting in letters after priority deadline, please post answer here--it looks like I'll be in the same boat.

itsalisa, it took me about a week to get my transcript sent and reviewed to NYU.
Another question, It seems to me that we need to ideally make our resume fit on one page or am I mistaken ? Also how specific did you guys get when listing your volunteer experience ?
@iitsalisa - I didn't reduce mine to one page, and I put all volunteering and medical work (even really old medical work) on there as well.
I didn't reduce mine either. Mine is about 3 pages, and I put everything on there - most of these programs are looking for content, not a fancy business-type resume! So no worries if you don't want to cut things out.
Okay, I heard back from NYU about priority deadline: they WILL NOT consider your application priority unless they have everything by March 1.
I guess it's time for me to put the heat on those LOR writers...

Wow that's interesting. So lets say I get one LOR in before the deadline and considering if I have everything else submitted by then I'm assuming they will mark it priority and just ignore the other letter if it comes after march 1st ?

Did anyone take the TEAS and send the score report to NYU? I know NYU doesn't require the test scores but I put my score on my resume since I did well on it :) . I don't know if I'm supposed to send the official score report to them though...
I sent my TEAS score but just a copy since the official copy is $25 and they don't really need it. Hey, it can't hurt and maybe it could help?
