NYP Hiring Process

U.S.A. New York

Updated:   Published

Hi Everyone this is my first post. I was lucky enough to score an interview with NYP where I met with a hiring manager as well as a director of a unit. I am wondering for those who have applied for RN positions how long did it take to hear back with a job offer? Or possibly a job denial. I would love to hear from those who have ben hired here as I am really anxious. Thank you.

Hey congrats! Can I ask what unit you interviewed for and what experience you have? I have been trying nonstop to score an interview for a full time position in NYP (Cornell and Columbia). And nothing! :( I have 5 years experience in telemetry with experience floating to coronary care unit.

My interview made a week this Tuesday. Now Im starting to get nervous since you've heard back within a week. I would think they would at least alert me by now if infact I wasn't hired.. Ill keep everyone posted.

Wanted to bump up this thread!

Inquiring on the NYP hiring process as I've had my face to face interview exactly 2 weeks ago today. Two interviews in one day, 1st one at the TA recruiting center, then was sent for the 2nd one at the Lower Manhattan Hospital location with the unit director. Both went exeptionally well, I think. Was asked the basic interview questions in the beginning, not many then it turned into giving me pay scale and benefit details, also the shift details. As I were writing this down, the TA recruiter stated I didnt need to and that I'd get it all in the email package. (hint or not). I was also sent by her the link to fill out my references. All references sent in to date.

For the 2nd interview I was sent to the Hospital to meet the unit director and was shown around the unit and was introduced to staff etc. Although I left out of there feeling as if I got it and they loved me. This wait is extremely nerve wrecking and is making me lose faith. I sent a follow-up email 3 days ago inquiring about the decision process and still no word. Was told by a current employee there that HR moves slow and this will take time. Any advise?

I basically had the same thing happen. An interview (both HR and hiring manager in same day) at the end of January, It seemed that it went extremely well. I was told to expect something the next week and nothing. I've followed up via email once and called a few times with messages in the last couple of weeks with no response. Since their careers page changed I also couldn't see my application status online. I figured that they moved on but wanted to at least get a denial confirmation. I ended up calling the main HR office and spoke with someone there who connected me with my old account info, my status for that position still says "assessment/reference" so maybe there is a little hope? I just don't understand why its been so long with no response. Have you heard anything since you posted this?

Good evening. I sent you a PM reply a couple days ago.

I still can't reply on PM but Wow! Thank you for replying. That makes me feel a lot better. I guess I was just so concerned because the floor manager told me to expect something the week after my interview. Now I feel bad for badgering them a little (I sent them each an email and called twice, about a week apart). I hope that doesn't change anything. I wonder how much longer it will be.

To get access to my old account - I called the main HR number. Its on Elyse's (lower manhattan talent acquisition person, I'm assuming this is who you interviewed with) answering machine, I haven't ever had her answer the phone.
