nurses working in Nassau or Suffolk County

I am going to be taking a refresher course at Stony Brook Medical Center, and then I will be looking for a job.

I would be anxious to know where you work and hear how your hospital or long term care facility etc. treats nurses returning to nursing (reentry nurses). Also do you have many reentry nurses? I am also anxious to hear how specific Long Island hospitals treat their nurses-especially new ones. What are their orientation and preceptor programs like? How long do they last? Would you recommend your hospital for a reentry nurse?

Also, does your hospital use pumps for all IV patients? How about computerized dr. ordering?

Any information would be helpful. If you work at LIJ or North Shore, why are they magnet hospitals?
