NSLIJ Critical Care Fellowship October 2013

U.S.A. New York

Published

So North Shore has posted two fellowships in their careers section. Thought I'd start a thread to see who else has applied and if anyone has heard back. :nurse::geek::up:

I have the same thing going on with my documents, I surely hope it isn't a bad thing.

*thinking positive thoughts only*

Hey everyone. I just wanted to ask you all that are going through the process of trying to get into the residency program, do you have a BSN or ADN? Also, what was the interview process like?

I work at another hospital very close to Lennox Hill, and I was not selected for their residency starting in October because I was so nervous that I didn't do well on the interview :( The fact that I worked at the hospital was the only reason I even landed an interview without having a BSN. I am 6 months shy of getting my BSN, and have had no luck even getting called for interviews other than the hospital I currently work for, which is why I'm asking. It seems like no one is interested in you unless you have a BSN and some kind of patient care experience (my only experience is working for a physician within the hospital in a clerical position).

Thanks in advance! Any insight would really help.

Hey NurseKNYC,

I have a BSN and passed the NCLEX two months ago. I haven't heard back from the program so I don't know much about the interview process; the limited information I know is from reading previous posts. From what I've heard from other nurses, it is a little more difficult to get a job [without any prior experiences] with a ADN. However, you have mentioned that you were able to get an interview but was not selected due to your interview skills. Thus, maybe polishing on that would definitely help.

I have some [but limited] experience on a PCU/CCU through my clinical rotations. I also did an externship at another hospital, but it was in the well baby nursery so I don't think that would give me much leverage in terms of this program. I'm still waiting to hear back from HR, hopefully this week :[ *fingers crossed*

Has anyone received a phone call to interview yet?

Hi everyone,

I also applied to the CTICU of fellowship program. Still haven't heard anything back yet. I tried to call them but couldn't get through; has anyone else tried to call? Also, which critical care fellowship did you guys applied to?

Has anyone heard back from Lenox Hill about the ED fellowship??

Hello everyone,

I have literally applied to all the fellowships that have shown up for October, except the current one that went up today for the Emergency Department at north shore because it tells me the job description does not exist anymore. I have not heard back at all from any of them.

I called today to ask about when we might start hearing back, considering the fellowships were listed to start in October, and the response was "we dont give updates. you have to wait to be contacted" so who knows haha

Well I haven't heard anything yet. Has anyone heard from them?

Hi everyone!

I missed the fellowship listing that was posted in September.

What do I need to apply to the fellowship? I saw some people had posted that they had letters of recommendation - I would like to be able to get those set up soon in case another listing goes up since HR told me they only leave the listing posted for 72 hours!

Thanks for your help!

Has anybody heard of anything recently. I've been calling the Nurse Recruiter there, but she has not replied back. Jobs opened up a few weeks ago for this new cohort. Has anybody else heard anything?

Yes I did my first interview. Did you apply to Manhasset or New hyde?

How was the interview? And did you interview with HR or a nurse manager?
