Hi, I want to know if there's any of you here who is currently a student or has been a student of Montefiore school of nursing (used to be Dorothea Hopfer school of nursing) in Mt. Vernon?? Can you tell me about the school's nursing program or maybe your personal experience in the program? And I live in queens, is the traveling going to be an issue 'coz I'm just taking the subway/metro north to get there.. do u happen to know if there are students from queens that goes to this school? Any response will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

oh and yess about 2-3 times a semester you will have what we call a "pull out" day. You need to go to one of the clinical sites for observation such as radiology, dialysis, OR, ER, etc. Each semester is different! Usually on the weekday you have pull out, your off that saturday. Hope this helps!

I am currently in the process of applying for the Jan 2015 semester. I would like to talk to other prospective students for that semester. Also I have not taken the TEAS so it might be possible to prepare together.

What is the required TEAS score needed? Thanks

Depends on the requirement of the school you're trying to get into.

I went to their site to do a gpa calculation as suggested--My calcuated gpa is 2.7. I'm worried if my scores on the TEAS falls in the proficient range I will be overlooked since my calculated gpa isn't high ( just the requirement). I do have a degree, and cumulative gpa is a 3.2 however that's not really important (as far as getting in). I am currently taking a course over that i did nott do well in years ago. Now, should i wait to complete the course with a better grade, then apply for fall 2015? Or just try to study well for the TEAS in October? If i happen to not score above proficient I want my gpa to at least give me leverage......advice please. :(

If u have the time to study vigorously for the TEAS, take the test. But if u have a tight schedule, then wait. Proficient is a min of 58.7, but scoring way above that can b an advantage. Time goes by very quickly on the actual test so u have to time urself when u're doing the practice tests. Remember that u can only take the test once a yr for MSON.
