Hi,

I finally find a place that hired me after so many months of job search. But my problem is only one day orientation on the floor. I would like to know what lpn do on night shift. I have no idea because I had my one day training in the morning shift. Help me, any advice will be appreciated. It is so hard to find a job down there, I don't want to lose that one.

Thank you.

Please to what to do, what to expect.

I was lucky i got 3 days lol. I did night shift for years. What to expect depends on where your working. I was in a nursing home and the night shift was predictable. The main med pass is in the am just before people get up 5 am for me. If your job is like mine was be ready for paperwork and basically all the petty/dumb stuff days and evening shift dont have time to do.

Its my experience that the biggest challenge to a night nurse is not the job as much as adapting to being awake over night. Remember when things go wrong at 3am there aren't too many people to help you out. Lean on the other night nurses at your facility for advice and help night shifts usually are a closer group of people. I'm sure you will do fine.
