January 2014 NLN scores info for kings borough kbcc

those that took the test on the 6th/7th...? took it myself 1st time, had to really rush without much thought just to finish it, overall score it gave me was *121* , I wonder what the process is in KBCC, do they then compare this score with the KB students ? or national? my gpa is 3.94... the english part killed it for me, the last tricky vocal section I guess almost all the way though.

Go to ideal uniform 1816 Flatbush ave. Tell them that you are in Kingsboroughs nursing program they will show you what you can choose from as they know the schools regulations regarding uniforms, shoes, etc. They have some nice uniforms and prices aren't bad!

@nursingstudentjess I'm kind of confused :(

Do we have to wait till orientation to get our list of books and purchase uniforms or can we do that now?

Also, I signed up for the "library blackboard session" when I handed in my acceptance form however, I'm not really sure what it is? Am I actually going into the school for this "session"?

Lastly, apparently there is a "medical terminology" assignment that must be turned in the first day of class. Do we pick up the assignment from the nursing department before or after orientation?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just feeling really nervous and its making me feel dumb lol. After I got accepted, I keep having dreams of showing up to orientation and I don't have anything done. Resulting in the Department Chair kicking me out......I mean literally "kicking" me out:nailbiting:. *lol*

Why you did not ask in Depatment about assignment. I think Department has up to date information than student in program .

@udacha I didn't ask anyone in the department because I was on a rush to go to work. I'm asking a student in the program because she's gone through the orientation process and she'll also be volunteering at this years orientation. If she doesn't know the answers, I'm pretty sure she will tell me just that. Then I will have to ask the department. No big deal.

Hey!! Did you drop off your letter of acceptance yet? Usually when you drop off the letter of acceptance the dept will give you a copy if the book list, the hw assignment and the textbook you are to do the assignment from.

For the uniforms if you go to Ideal Uniforms (I put the address in a previous response on this post) just tell them you are in kingsboroughs nursing program and they will be able to help you with everything you need, they know all of kbcc's rules and regs!

You will need basic supplies a stethoscope, pen light etc. For the stethoscope don't go with one that's too cheap .. Try to get a Littmann you don't have to get the most expensive one (Littmann classic runs about $60 .. I think not a 100% sure).

Yes, I handed in my acceptance form and the woman in the department didn't say a thing. She just told me I'm "all set".

I went in and I asked the secretary who I gave my forms to last week and she said that the hw assignment would be given to me on orientation, as well as my course sections and book lists. Was anyone else told that as well? In any case [COLOR=#003366]jayjaycee, can you please let me know what happens when you go to the office today?? thank u!

Don't forget to buy the patches to sew onto the left sleeve of your uniform! They sell them in the on campus bookstore.

I am just wondering should we buy the used books or the new books with those access codes included from campus bookstore? Since we have to attend the blackboard orientation, I assume we will use the access code to access online homework very often. If this is the case, I think buying new textbooks from campus bookstore will actually save more money.

Nursingstudentjess, from what you have experienced last semester, what would you recommend us to buy, New or Used??
