January 2014 NLN scores info for kings borough kbcc

those that took the test on the 6th/7th...? took it myself 1st time, had to really rush without much thought just to finish it, overall score it gave me was *121* , I wonder what the process is in KBCC, do they then compare this score with the KB students ? or national? my gpa is 3.94... the english part killed it for me, the last tricky vocal section I guess almost all the way though.

@nursingstudentjess Could you offer some advice about note taking and studying skills in NUR 17 and 18? I've never taken a class like NUR 18 and there's so much information. What proved to be effective for you? Thank you! :)

For NUR 17 I would take good notes .. copy all the questions that are put on the board. You can do practice questions in the book if you bought it or go to doasagehelp.com .. not only do they give you practice questions they also give the step by step of how to do the problem. Also there is tutoring on tues mornings run by Sasha not sure about the time toucan ask you professor.

For NUR 18 your study habits should reflect your learning style. For me I read the chps related to what was going to be taught in lecture that day before class. I had sticky notes and would pull out info I thought was important from the text and then just stick them where I found the info. Then I would go to lecture and hear the information, it would reinforce what I read. Then I would take the PowerPoints because they are kind of vague and I would add detailed notes to them. And lots of practice questions!!!!! Try to understand the info not memorize it because you will not retain it for long, granted something's will have to be memorized. Always ask questions if you find your not understanding, and if your having trouble met the professor know they will do their best to help you!

@nurstud read according to the week to week. For practice questions you can google fundamentals of nursing questions or to be more specific include a topic, there are questions in your textbook, look on amazon for fundamentals workbooks that contain questions (there's a lot out there!).

Hi did you guys have to take a chemistry pre req before you take anatomy and physiology ? I currently attend bmcc & want to transfer out because there pre req is a lot & I feel like its a waste of money that I don't have. Please let me know the pre clinical for the nursing program at kbcc

Hey @Valcinda! Chemistry is not a prerequisite for A&P at Kingsborough. :)

So you only have to take A&P, sci 25, English 1 and psychology ? Then the the NLN exam and they decide whether or not you'll get accepted in the program? I'm looking to transfer out from bmcc or take my summer sessions at kbcc cause they really trying to get money that I don't have.

Yes, that's all the requirements. It wouldn't hurt to take A&P 2 or Microbiology before applying to the program. It'll save you some time and money by doing that. Good luck!

Ok. & what's the NLN exam score ? Wow ok. Well I have English & Psychology B+ in both classes I only need to do A&P & sci if I transfer to kbcc
