Hospitals in North Dakota are hiring new grads. You can always go back to NY once you acquired your experience. Just my 2 cents.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Are you only limiting your search to hospitals? Try outpatient, acute rehab, subacute rehab, long term care, LTACH.

Do you have a BSN? If not that can be a big barrier in a competitive area like NY

yes i applied there and went to a interview, now waiting for the next interview with a nursing director. Location is not convenient for me but i am going to do that to get some experience. If i get hired, orientation only starts in jan though. Pray for me . Thanks for your input.

If location is not convenient what about a part-time job in that borough with MJHS while you continue your search for what's best fit for you. Some people can juggle both a full time and part time position. If that sounds like something you could do check out their website for walk-in interview dates and times.

Did you have your interview at Kings County Hospital or White Gloves Agency ? Do you mind if you will share with us the names of the agencies who are open to new grads ? thanks

I think for new grad RNs, LTC especially in subacute / rehab area is a good start for at least a year. It will make your assessment skills better and your exposed to different skills as wound care, foley care, trach, assessment and post surgical care. It will prepare you later for the hospial setting. Thats the route I took after a year in rehab.
