Yes, you are right regarding the books; my mistake. I am comparing this program to another programs in Queens that just moved to a new location so everything is brand new. With that said, Hopfer definitely seems more appealing overall. I was informed by Sandra that nobody else wants to take the TEAS on the first day it's being offered, 9/29, and they like to have at least 6 people to make it worthwhile. I may have to wait until Oct. 5th.

I believe your speaking of St. Paul's. I went to one of their open house in June , before their move to the new location. I opted out of applying , just was too uneasy on their NON ACCREDITATION issue! Playing it safe...Hopfer excited me, didn't feel that with St. Paul's . Funny, my HS called me back to inform me of sending out my transcript to Hopfer. That was the last piece of info needed to complete my application. So gotta wait till they receive it now to get the invitation for the TEAS testing info. No surprise, she did say no one wants to take the first date...

Yes, I also have issue with St. Paul's not having NLN accreditation, but a friend just graduated from there and he has not had a problem finding a job; although, he hasn't tried transferring to a BSN program yet. I checked the NLN web site and they aren't even listed for candidacy, which after 3+ years since buying out St. Vincent's, you would think this would be a priority. Maybe it just takes a long time to become eligible?

I took their HESI exam yesterday (trying to keep my options open) and did well, but there were no science questions. Some people were retaking parts they had failed previously. The new school is a huge improvement. It is also only a 10 minute drive from my home, which is more convenient, but as you said, the overall feel was less personable.

Oh yes, the schedule for Hopfer is the best for me compared to any other school. Totally understand (re: the TEAS)...all the best to you!

Look how convenient it is from your home and the set up isn't so right. That's unfortunate. But the question isn't wether one can get a job after graduating St. Paul's ...it's wether one can find a school that'll accept credits from a Non Accredited program to be able to Continue for the BSN. I definitely Plan to cont for my BSN. Most Schools won't accept Non accredited credits, I only found 2 that would in NYC. The investment in St. Paul's is way too much for so little. At their open house , that very same question was asked and a quick reply "we're trying to get it" and that was it!

Well, I just called Hopfer. They confirmed that they received my HS transcript...and that the invitation to take the TEAs was sent out to me yesterday. We'll see what happens...?

I took the TEAS on Friday. Not as bad as I was expecting. Have you scheduled yours?

Oh great! I take mines on the 26th! I hope I have the same response to the test as you did. Was there a lot of students at your sitting?

Only 3! ***** said most students wait for the later dates. I just wanted to get it done. It's been over a month since I took the HESI and I was tired of studying for these tests. **** also said, in addition to the test score, they also look at your academic preparedness, which will be shown on your test result. The levels are exemplary, advanced, proficient, basic, and developmental. If you get basic or developmental, you are not even considered for acceptance.

I purchased the online ATI practice exam, which helped to get a feel for the test. If you've been studying, you'll do fine. Good luck!
