Hi All,

I just sent off my application for Accelerated Nursing program at Concordia College for the fall of 2013. I'm really excited and nervous. I saw the thread for the fall 2012 was quite active and a few would-be 2013 students had posted to that one so I thought I should start a new one.

Anyway, I would LOVE to hear from any posters on the 2012 thread about how their experience has been going,anyone who is finished with the program, and anyone who is applying like me!

I'm wondering if anyone can answer this question. I'm noticing most of the NY Accelerated BSN programs Such as Concordia, Molloy, Mt st Vincent and Adelphi I am applying for are not NLNAC accredited. What type of impact will that have when I become a nurse and start looking for employment. I spoke with someone at NLNAC and she said most hospitals look for accredited program graduates. Is this true? This is scaring me as I do not want to invest 50000 plus on a program and not be able to get a job.

There are two accreditation bodies for nursing schools: NLNAC and CCNE. Concordia is accredited under CCNE. I have included the link to their website:Concordia College-New York | Accademics | Accreditation

I plan on going to graduate school sometime after I get my BSN. I am 100% that this school is completely accredited so no worries. If you are still worried however call the school.

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) also has a tool that you can use to find accredited programs: American Association of Colleges of Nursing | Find Accredited Programs

Hey everyone. I'm happy I found this thread. I interviewed on March 11th. I'm waiting anxiously to hear back. Concordia is my first choice for many reasons. I like that it's a smaller school, and the price and time frame to complete the degree is ideal. I wish everyone still waiting to hear back good luck and hope to see you all this fall :)

I recently got accepted Concordia for the Fall 2013 class. I'm pretty excited and nervous for sure. I'm originally from Mt. Vernon, but have been living in Oregon for the past 8 years. My family is still in NY, so that will be good, but my love and my dog will be staying behind in Portland. Have you been accepted to the program?

Anyone else out there who's been accepted, and will be starting with me in August 2013??

Did anyone else send a thank you note to their interviewer? I forgot about it the day after my interview and now I'm wondering if it's too late. Thoughts?

I did. We went back and forth a few times. I would think that you could still send a note. It will show your interest. Good luck!

has anyone heard yet? anxious! a lot of ppl that interviewed sooner, got decisions within 2-3 weeks. i interviewed on feb 27th...as i said above, ruth told me that the dean was on vacation and letters should go out april 1st. :nailbiting: lol

I interviewed last Wednesday. The secretary said two weeks, but ******* said a month... so I'm guess sometime in April then!
