Chances of getting into city tech nursing program

U.S.A. New York

Hello All. I just transferred to city tech this semester (spring2011) and I'm taking 2 of the 4 pre-reqs to get into the nursing program. My grades from previous college are: Psy101 A...A&P B+....The 2 classes I'm taking this semester are English 2 and Math 1275 and so far I'm getting excellent grades so I'm confident I will get an A in both classes. The thing is I just took the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Test (they no longer give the NLN) and I barely passed...I got a 67 on it. With that being said, what do you think my chances are in getting into the nursing program for next semester??? Will my grade from the nursing entrance test hinder me from getting in??? I'm sooo nervous!!! Thanks in advance!

Hi.. Just wondering what the passing grade for the Kaplan nursing Entrance Exam is? I will be taking it over the fall semester. I'm also taking Math 1275 ,Child psych and A &P2 for the fall semester. I have taken Eng 1 & 2 already and have maintained an A for both. I also have taken A & P 1 and Psychology 101 and have maintained an average of A - for both. What are my chances of getting into the nursing program for the Spring 2012 semester? Thanks.

Hey!!! The passing grade, if I'm not mistaken, is a 65. You have a good chance of getting into the nursing program if you pass the nursing entrance test and if you do very well in math1275 since they only look at the 4 classes (math 1217, psych 1101, a&p1 and english 1). Good luck and be sure to update us when you get accepted!!!!

Thank You so Much that was really helpful! And yes def I will update when I get accepted! (fingers Crossed) :)

Hi All! So the Nursing Kaplan Entrance exam is very close ! I'm taking it on Nov 9th! I would just like to know if there are any helpful tips I can get? Which subject I should concentrate more on? For example, A&P 1 or A&P 2? And how should I start studying? Please & thank you :)

Hey guys,im new to this website and im so happy to find out about it also.I first must congrats all those who have passed the nursing exam and got accepted to the program and encourge those who are preparing for the exam.anyways, does anyone who goes to city tech knows when is the deadline to apply for the Kaplan exam for the november 2011 entrance exam?DO I have to go into the nursing department to apply for the exam thanks?

I took it on Nov. 9th and passed with a 76. I'm anxiously awaiting the acceptance/denial letter. They said it was mailed out on January 2. How did you do?

Kaplan with a 70

BIO 2311 -- B+

MAT 1275 -- B

INTRO TO PSYH -- B (using CHILD PSYH -- A instead)

ENG 1101 B+

Overall GPA 3.5

i didnt get into the program for the spring sems. and i dont know what i am going to do

Can the person who didn't get into the LAGCC Nursing Program just let me know if they applied for RN or LPN and what their grades were? it would be very much appreciated!

I applied for the RN @ lagcc. However, I dont think it is necessary to go into your LPN if youre going to do RN. It just makes the length of time longer and then you'd have to find a RN program once youre done. Just go straight into RN

Hey can someone help me! I took the NLN twice and I didn't do so well. Does this mean my nursing career is over. Will city tech every accept me. Please Help. Email me at : [email protected]

Hello everyone,

I am currently a student at BMCC i have a B- for English 101 and B+ for Psychology 100, I am worried because my advisor told me i had no chance of getting into the BMCC program so i am going crazy right now. I Need some advice , should i go to City tech or should i attend KBCC?

here's a hint: if those are the only classes you messed up on go to laguardia cc. they let you retake/sub courses but only in your initial semester there. but note, eng 101 and psych 100 are among the easier classes. you would need 2 classes of anatomy and physiology, and for me, those classes were 10x more difficult
