Congrats everyone! At PBISON it does seem that if you get an interview you are basically in. And they are so nice at the interview!

So by my count we have Shmitty3, Mystiqx, NursetobeTracy, Paragon, Male Nurse NYC, and myself starting next fall. Anyone else?
I'm so excited, I think I am going for ATOP (not sure when that is decided exactly). What's everyone else planning on? Anyone else still need to do their BLS?

    Hi Everyone,

Congratulations to all . My questions are in regards to the admission process. How difficult is it to get into the program at BI? What are the requirements?
When does the admission process commence?

I am in the process of weeding out the school that I am interested in for next year. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hey Triple A
Beth israel has a very informative website, and I would also suggest that when the new application cycle begins probably october or so, to attend an open house. Another super important thing is the NLN, they put weight into that score. They are not like the CUNY community colleges where it is based strictly on GPA, they take every aspect of your application into consideration. An interview is required, Apply as early as possible.
    Hope this helps.

I agree with Mystiqx, but I would add that you can apply before you actually take the NLN. Make sure you give yourself ample time to study, it is high school math/english/chem/bio/physics, but if it's been a while since high school you may want to brush up. It really seems that if your grades are okay a lot rests on your NLN. I only have a 3.0 from my previous degree, but I got 158/99% on the nln and they called right away. I am absolutely NOT smarter than 99% of people who took the test, I just studied a lot and used all of the tricks the guides offer.
good luck, this board is a good place for info about schools, we have all done our homework it seems

Welcome MannyJ, congratulations on your interview.
As for myself, I orginally intended to CLEP my courses but decided to do them online instead, Im taking three pre-reqs online. Just finished Dev Psych, currently taking Intro to soc and tomorrow Nutrition starts. All through the Suny Learning Network, classes there are super cheap, nothing like trying to take them at the City schools. Anyway, welcome again, are you doing the Traditional program or ATOP??
