Anyone taking pre req's at Medgar Evers College?

U.S.A. New York

I am currently taking my pre requisites at Medgar Evers College. There is so little information here about this school. I would like to hear from other Medgar students. I am taking A&P I and English 2 right now. I work full time and have 3 children. I still have to take chemistry and A&P II. Then I can apply for the nursing program. I would also like to take and micro before I start the program. Can anyone shed some light on any of these classes and the program. The NLN is only given in spring so I need to have these classes completed by then

Thanks in advance.

1) Wantadvive you will have to take Chem again MEC only accecpts B- or better for science classses.2) I would suggest you take you rscience classes either during the Winter or Summer sessions (there are 2 sessions for summer).3) Finish all your pre reqs before entering the nursing program so you will only have to focus on your nursing classes.4) Your GPA isn't bad but if you want to bring it up a little transfer in as an AS in Bio and here are a list of courses you can take: Hsc 200, Envs 200, Art 100, Speech 102, History 101 & 200 & Eng 210 just to list a few. They are not difficult classes so you should have no problem getting A's.5) MEC is funny about their math class for nursing so you may have to take Math 120 is they don't accecpt your math credit from a previous school to satisfy their nursing pre reqs.6) You didn't list an intro to computing class so if you haven't taken one you may need to take Cs 101.I wish you all the best.

Thanks so much for the advice.. I have computer classes and speech 1.

How did it go? Did you get an interview?

What are the pre-reqs in MEC?

I am currently a student at MEC, and an applicant for the fall 2014. I got an A in psych, B in Math, C in Eng101 ,A in Eng 102, A+ in Chem 105, and B in Bio A&P. Im scheduled to take the NLN in Feb.. but I was wondering if that B in Bio messed up my shot, being that I heard you have to have at least a 3.3 or better..any advice?

Hey good day I am a prospective student for the 2015 nursing program do u know how long it will and for them to send out response letters of their overall decision

Hello so I am attending MEC so I am right now working on my associates in science so that I can take the NLN exam next spring but I don't know if I will be ready by then cause I'm taking bio 251 and I have to retake math 138 since I didn't pass the final so what classes u suggest I take in the summer and fall plus I was wandering if I finish my associates of them I can apply for the exam towards my bsn

You could of actually applied this spring for entry for fall 2016. Unfortunately you cannot apply for their BSN program unless u already have an associates in nursing. Since I'm almost sure u missed the deadline for fall 2016 I would suggest u retake math138 in the fall and apply during the spring (Speak to an advisor to make sure). Most students like myself naturally assumed you have to have all prerequisites before applying and that's not the case, You could of Applied this spring while completing 251 and took math 138 along with fundamentals. I wish u the best of luck and hope things work in your favor.

Yes well right now I'm taking math 138 and bio 251 but I am missing chemistry 105 which is a prerequisite to take the NLN and i havw to retake the exam for my bio 101 cause I failed and it is another prerequisites to take the exam. And the advisors said you have to get a B+ in all your science courses in order to be accepted and stay in the program. I might well need to take some summer courses as well to catch up if I want to take it next year. So did you graduate already? And thank you so much
