IM SOO SOO HAPPY ACCEPTANCE LETTER QUEENSBOROUGH CC SPring 2010.. DAy program .

I would had perfer the Evening program but Evening program clinicals start only on fall ,,

Spring clinicals sequence beginning of day program.

I would be so grateful if any one that graduated from Qcc DAY program or even evening can give me some info.

my friend isn't majoring in nursing...lol {she majors in business administration}

and i will meet with the nursing dept on January 7 in NJ (trinitas) not queensboro...lol again.

Girl I gone thru so much my last semester in another school which i would perfer not to name. I was already in the nursing program but it was a 4 year private college .my then boyfriend made me go thru so much .. He had a drug addiction , I tried to help him, he tried to commit suicide I would go to class with my eyes red from crying I would start crying in the ladies room.. it was so hard I still manage to get a B in my nursing courses but I did lowered my gpa.

sorry to start putting my whole life out there but anyways.. i transfered out to qcc took a few courses then did the nln entrance exam and got in to the nursing program ..CUNY is so competitive.

my new motto.. Are you a nursing student are u in my program. who is u .. I dont know u .. uhh ohh ,

queensborough is a beautiful college i love the campus .. your friend got taste ;) lol

Ese u had me excited. I was gonna share my lunch with you, we could had study together yes study I dont fool around girl no partying for me just hitting the books..

Lol. Prepare yourself mentally and emotionally... QCC is a very tough program! Only the best gets accepted, and only the best of the best gets to graduate! You should be fine as long as you do what is expected of you.

My advice, READ & STUDY A LOT. You only have a few weeks before the semester starts, so better get that funda book in advance and start reading as much as you can. When I got accepted and didnt bother asking for help or other's opinion -cause I thought it would be the same as AP, right on the very first day of my theory class I was already 10-15 chapters behind. Lol.

As for the clinical rotation, better register really early if you wanna choose which hospital you wanna be working at -but as you know, everyone registers early. Last summer registration, only the Nursing classes from the website crashed and we all had to go to school just to get registered.

Use all the Nursing resources they provide in school, they are of great help! Also the SNA for next semester are amazing and wonderful peeps.

I already got today Fundamentals second edition, nurse's pocket guide, plus I ordered Nurse's 3 minute clinical reference, and Visual Nursing : A guide to disease, skills and treatments,, This week Im starting with fundamentals.

Wow thats so funny I can imagine your in class n your 10-15 chapters behind lol.

Im asking opinion like the noisy neighbor lol..

which site do you think is the best for clinicals .. in your opinion you can send me the answer in private message if you want it to be more discreet..

Also about the Uniform nursing scrubs , I know is all white. is there a specific brand they want us to use ..

My appointment is January 6 with the nursing department but I just want to get everything now..

Well for me Flushing Hospital was the best cause its not hi-tech, so its easier to transcend from low-tech to hi-tech. Depends which suits you best tho, cause like NYHQ everything is computerized. Every semester, availabilities of the clinical sites differ tho so you hafta check it. I would suggest choose whichever is more accessible from your place.

I'm in the day program. Hopefully graduating by Spring of 2010 LOL! Uniforms are all white, they have specific brands but I forgot. You really dont have to worry about the uniform tho. My batch petitioned the uniformed to be changed, so they are changing it and it will be different by Fall of 2010. So just get 1 set for this Spring 2010, and if you go to the uniform center just mention you are from QCC and they know already.

i'm in the evening program. as for my textbooks, we have not been provided with the name of textbook we should get. i dont even know what color scrubs we'll be wearing...lol
