New Grads-Try agencies, homecare and nursing homes

by girls1

To all the new grads having trouble finding work. Please try employment agencies, homecare and nursing homes. These are the only areas that have brought any luck to me and some of my former classmates. It seems they will take "anyone" and many experienced nurses are not crazy for these positions.
When I went to an employment agency in November they had nursing home positions for new grads, I ended up getting one on my own though. And I did a homecare gig for about a week before starting at my nursing home. Three of my former classmates ended up in nurisng homes too. One of them has had two different homecare positions.
I know these positions may not be desirable, but you will gain exerience and pay the bills, when the economy lifts and you have experience under your belt, you can move on. I have been waiting on two HHC facilities for months.

Please look into these areas if you are having difficulty. Good luck!
