Loan Forgiveness Programs at Hospitals

Hello,
I wanted to know how to obtain information about loan forgiveness. I ask because I went to school down south, which makes the loan forgiveness search that much more difficult. I have read about working at hospitals with a crticial shortage of nurses, but the hospital I work at does not fall under this category.
Are there other programs where I can do community or volunteer work to get my loans reduced? Any type of leads would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
