commuting from manhattan to bronx

I just got a job offer at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, which is located on the grand concourse in the bronx. I originally wanted to move to manhattan and work there, but I am having no luck with manhattan hospitals. Does anyone think it would be difficult to live in Manhattan and commute to the Bronx for work? I'll be working 3 nights a week, 8pm-8am, so it's not like it'll be rush hour when I'm travelling. I want to live in the city badly! Also, does anyone know if there are studios in Manhattan for about $1500? Thanks a lot!!!

Nope, where at in Manhattan do you live? Manhattan and the Bronx arent far at all. If accepted to Bronx CC, I plan on commuting from Brooklyn. Check craigslist.org for info on apts.

That commute will be a breeze for you. Good luck! Yes you will be able to find studios and maybe even 1 bedrooms in that price range. They are currently building and rebuilding, so it's a good time to check things out.

Hi there,
I just wanted to know whether or not you took the job at Bronx leb and if so what has your experience there been like? I was recently offered a job there for their ICU program. But I may have to hold off on it. I'm currently working at New York Hospital Queens and hate it there. The only reason why I'm not jumping on the Bronx Lebanon job is because the commute from Queens to the Bronx is gonna be a killer. If i drive I'll be spending close to $200 a month in tolls. IF i take the train it's a minimum 2 hour ride.
If they're willing to let me come after i complete my 1 year (I'm already halfway there) I might consider moving to the bx or at least somewhere in BK or Queens that's close by the D train. I just want to know if it's worth the move. Your response would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
