Hi guys.

I'm in Tx. preparing for nursing school and look forward to the day I can travel and expereince other places in the US.

I have an affinity for NM....Santa Fe and Alb.

What is it like over there? How are the hospitals and nurses?

Tucson is also an awesome place.

Anyway, just wanted a little feedback. THX

I live in Northern New Mexico and love it! I enjoy the vast amount of undeveloped land, the low humidity, and the outdoor activities.

There are several hospitals to choose from in Albuquerque, but I don't know too much about any of them. If you haven't already, check out some of the other postings in this forum that talk about hospitals in Albuquerque.

There is 1 hospital in Santa Fe and 1 in Taos that I am aware of. If I can figure out how to post images, I will post some pictures I have showing the beauty of New Mexico.

Wow, it sounds like NM is a pretty nice place to live! I am from the North Eastern part of the USA, up here in the woods of Pennsylvania. It is a VERY rural area, and I do ER nursing in a small hospital on the 3-11/11-7 shift mainly. I have some breathing problems (pulmonary fibrosis) and the humidity of the Eastern Seaboard is difficult in the summer and the coldness of the winters does not help either, so I am looking into moving. I need to know a lot more about NM, where some of the good spots are, some to avoid, and what might be good places for me to look into. I am not really into big cities, but have lived in places like Baltimore and Miami when I was in the service. I do enjoy some night life, however. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I live in a small town near Santa Fe. I do not know much about Albuquerque hospitals, but there have been some other posts that talk about them. Santa Fe is great if you like arts and cultural events. There is also good skiing and outdoor activites such as hiking, horsebackriding, and mountain biking.

I am not able to post images of NM in this forum because I do not see an image icon, but I will try to post images in the Break Room

Have been lurking around here tonight, as I too want to move to NM, but when I saw your post about the resp. problems, I felt you should be warned that Santa Fe and Abq. are pretty high in the mountains and as a result the air is pretty thin there. We go up that way as often as possible, but I always have to deal with the headache from the altitude. Otherwise, my dream is to move to that area when I finish school (headache or not) as it is the prettiest area I have ever seen. Good luck, I know you will love it.

Yup, you'll be around a mile high. Santa Fe is the Highest Capital in the nation! Including Denver. I'm from Albuquerque, but have moved to my OTHER home town of San Francisco, and let me tell you, when I went how to visit, couldn't even get through ONE game of pick up basketball.
