    I received a letter 3 weeks ago saying I was not accepted because they did not have my high school transcript on file. After speaking with them it was there error not mine. I was told because the problem was fixed I was on the top of the waiting list. I am still waiting to see. Do you know if they are strick with only giving 30 days to send a deposit to hold your spot. I am just trying to figure out when the should know how many people they will take off the waiting list. Good luck in your new job. I am 31 now with 3 kids and being a nurse is the only career I have ever wanted.

    Well I emailed the director and she told me to even be considered i had to have atleast 32 credits completed. But then I found out that one of the girls in my class got accepted and she only has one more class completed then i do so i dont know whats going on. I just decided to apply at different places instead

    You can go on the BCC website where you register for classes. Go to registration and type in nur119 and it should come up saying how many spots are still open for the 119 units. It shows how many people are in the class and how many spots are yet to be filled. They accepted someone the day before classes started a few years ago, she missed the first clinical because she did not have her paper work completed (PPD results and physical), so be prepared if you are at the top, because you never know. You run around like crazy to get you physical and PPD done, I got a physical every year at same time for that just in case phone call!

    She had more credits than you did. They start with the people who have the most and work backwards. Hundreds apply and they only accept, I think, 75. As I said earlier, I did not get in until all pre-reqs were completed. It is pretty much the same with every school in South Jersey, there is just not enough teachers. But hang in there. BCC has a great reputation with the nursing recruiters when you are job hunting.

    It stinks, all you can do is wait. I have learned my lesson. If I do not get in this semester, I will apply other places along with BCC. I would hate to go elsewere because this is were I started and other schools require some different classes not to mention the different in tuition but I cannot wait forever.I calles our lady of lourdes and they are taking applications for fall 2011. That was about 2 months ago.

    As I'm lurking thru all the posts on both the NJ/PA programs and nursing forums... what I'm seeing is that it's very difficult to find a job for a new grad. It also seems that the hospitals/health care profession is also affected by the current economic crisis. So, now I'm concerned. I'm bustin my butt to finish my prereq's and to apply for spring 2010 at Burlington County College but now I'm wondering if it's all worth it???? When I keep reading about nursing freezes in Pa and NJ... this is the one profession that I thought would be unaffected! They say in PA there is a "surplus" of nurses! The fact that there is a waiting list a mile long at all the schools has me concerned that when I graduate, it's going to be a long road to get a job! Anyone else concerned???

    By the time you are done it will be better. Don't let this stop you, the jobs are there, they are just able to be picky with who they hire. This won't last.
