by hopefullylucky Jan 7, '12I am going to be graduating from RU with close to a 2.9 GPA. I am interested in doing nursing in the future and hopefully get into an accelerated/bsn program. I wish I hadn't messed up so much.
I still have to take many of the prereqs and hoping to do well in them. Is it possible to get into accelerated nursing programs in SHU, RU, UMDNJ if I do well and get A's in the prereqs? And would it be ok to take the prereqs at a community college?Any advice would help alot.

I've attended informational sessions at both Rutgers and UMDNJ and they are pretty strict when it comes to the 3.0 GPA cut off. They stated they will not consider let alone accept any applicants who have below a 3.0. You may have a slither of a shot at UMDNJ v.s. Rutgers if you do well on all your prereqs and really pitch an awesome application package. Unlike Rutgers, UMDNJ does not solely rely on an applicant's numbers. Rutgers only looks at numbers and neither requires recommendations or personal statements.
Not sure about Seton Hall's requirement. - Jan 10, '12 by Glad2baRNIf you have a 2.9, I would try to bring it to at least a 3.0. I went to a Info session at UMDNJ in 2009 and back then a 2.9 meant an automatic decline letter is mailed out.Last edit by Glad2baRN on Jan 26, '12
