do you think it is do able for me to do a&p1 chemistry and nure 130 in the same semester
  4. by NJGuy5
well, my opinion is that is a pretty heavy load. Not completely un-doable, but difficult. As you progress in the nursing program, you will see that 130 was fairly basic, and in hindsight, in fact pretty easy. But that isn't the way it feels when you are in the course. Actually only about 50% of the class will pass.

Only you know if you can handle all three at the same time. To give yourself every possible chance to succeed, I would suggest you lighten the load.

I can't really suggest a professor selection for A&P, sorry. Maybe someone else here can...

Thank you so much nj guy you are always there for our questions I must say that.
What Nursing class are you in now.
By the way I have dunscombe for a&p1 and I have not heard good things about him but then some people have said he will help you understand bio which will help in nursing later on.

I could take chemistry for sp 08 then I could do A&P1 for summer 1 but I am not sure if it is a good idea to take a&p 1 in the summer. What are your ideas on that.

By dropping either science class would also mean i can not start nure 130 until the fall

Any AP in the summer will be a big challenge. API&II (aside from nursing courses) will probably be the most difficult courses you will take. Lots of memorization required... Only you know yourself, and and what else you are doing concurrently with school. Be realistic, and not overly optimistic. Only the best and brightest make it all the way thru Trinitas. I'm in 232.

    hi,
i would recommend prof sand and prof oskov for ap1/2. i took sand for lecture and oskov for lab two semesters in a row. they are good. at least in my experience. i took micro in the summer and i hated it. quizzes every time you go to class. blah. i dont know how the other science courses run in the summertime.
130 isn't as intense as the other courses. i was sent the letter to start 130 in the spring, but defered til the fall, so i could get all my science courses done. thats just me. you only know whats best for you. I'm in 231 now. good luck with everything.

Thank you very much, I have decided to defer until the fall for nure 130 and I wll just take chemistry this semester. I wll try to get a&p1 n the summer1 and a&p2 in summer 2. If I do not make it to summer registration on time i may defer again or I will co req A&p1 with Nure 130.

By the way how do you feel about Trinitas the program itself

well, I haven't been through any other programs, so I can't really compare. But, if I didn't have this much invested in Trinitas, I would go to a different program. I find the faculty in this program to be very unhelpful, and even interested in seeing you fail. The only thing they really care about is their 100% NCLEX (on the first try) pass rate for their 232 their graduates. This means many many good students are made to fail, and must repeat classes to be successful. Just look at the success rate comparing all those that enter 131 (forget about 130), against the number that actually graduate from 232. Maybe you should ask for those statistics...I can't believe Trinitas would EVER give them to you. Many faculty are unapproachable, and will not give you direct answers to simple questions. The approach is go figure it out yourself. Though some full-time faculty are quality, many many of the adjunct faculty are sub-par. There is no free-flow of information to allow you to plan your progress through the program. You can never get information about what to expect in the next course(s). You have to pass the one you are in, then register for the next, and get information. Sometimes the rumors you hear are true, but even students ahead of you are afraid to give you details about what they just went through for fear they will be caught. The program is completely unorganized (Have you experienced the free-for-all registration process for 130 or 131? They can't even hand out the correct slides in lecture! They can be counted on to loose your medical clearance documentation all the time...Be certain to ALWAYS keep copies). And just remember, the program/faculty ARE NEVER WRONG...SO DON'T EVEN TRY TO BE REASONABLE WITH THEM.

It wasn't too much for me, I took a&p1, micro and nure 130 together. I was busting my butt of the whole semester but ended with B+, B and a C+ so not bad considering the material covered. You really need to be able to devote a lot of time to this if you want to take them together, good luck!

for a&p take Sand, she is really good!
