Hi all: I am thinking of leaving my current AAS program in Nursing to apply to UMDNJ's PT BSN program. Can anyone tell me what the schedule is for classes in the PT BSN program? what times are classes held? Is it wise to stop my current program? (FYI- my reason for wanting to stop is the fact that current employers are not willing to hire associate nursing grads... or at least it seems that way)- Your comments would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you

The website should answer most of your questions: http://sn.umdnj.edu/academics/ptbsn/index.html

As far as stopping your current program, that will probably depend on how many credits they will transfer over. I believe any classes with clinical will not get transferred. I know one hospital where I do my clinical hired more than 10 new grads, all of which were BSNs.

Hey! 1st semester we went to school Thursday and Friday Nights ( 5:30 -8 or 5:30-10 if you have 2 classes that night) and Saturday morning.. this semester we are only going to school thursday and saturday ( i think it will be this way from now on since now until we graduate we will only be taking 2 classes ) and saturdays is normally clinicals. Its very doable alot of us still manage to work full time ( i work 25-30 hours a week ). I find a few of the FT students tell me they wish they did the pt program due to the tremendous amount of work and stress level of FT program. Down side is the length of the program however if you dont mind sticking around another 15 months i say go for it. If you think about it, 2 1/2 years for your bachelors instead of 2 years for your associates ( and still needing to go back to school ) i believe its worth it. I guess it also depends on how far along you are in your program as well. Hope this helps!

    TheDreamJourney - Congrats !!! =)
