Im asking a question that help would greatly be appreciated on... right now i live in nj and im on unemployment, i went to my local unemployment center and found out some information about the work force tution act thing that they offer.. they are willing to pay for up to 4000 of me going to school.. i would really love to work as a nursing assistant in a hospital setting but i dont want to pick the wrong schooling program.. can anyone recomend where i should start? is there a certain program i should be looking for? can anyone recomend any programs?

The local tech schools and some community colleges have CNA programs. Just look up your local community college. Also, sometimes the hospitals themselves do the training.

It all depends on what part of the state you are in. I took mine through Brookdale CC, where I am also going for my RN. The class was very good and I learned a lot.

I don't have the link off hand, but the state dept. of health and senior services has a list of CNA training programs online. You might have to do some google'ing and digging, but I remember looking at it somewhere on their website. Good luck finding a program! :heartbeat

I know many hospitals hire nursing assistants without any experience at all! They have training sessions within the hospital and you start immediately. Save money and time, but might have a little more experience to catch up on- good luck!

Green Acres Manor in Toms River NJ offers a free CNA course if you are hired by them. They run the course about every 8 weeks.
