This is what I found out after calling. My application is in disciplinary.
As a formality any application received with a "yes" answer goes directly to disciplinary. When I was filling out the application I called NJ BON to try and clarify the question I was having difficulty with but was told I had to interpret the question on my own as each person interprets it differently. What??? The question read: "Have you ever had a professional license or certificate of ANY type suspended, revoked or surrendered in NJ, any other state, the District of Columbia or in any other jurisdication"?
Thus, since I owned/operated a business registered with the State of NJ that had once been revoked/placed on an inactive list due to failure to pay 2 annual report fees of $50.00 each, it constituted me answereing yes to the question. The mailings the state sent went to the wrong address, so it looked like I was not responding, when in fact I never received the notices. It was a big mess that was ultimately resolved with full reinstatement of the business without penalty. With the fees paid and since I was going to nursing school
I filed for dissolution of the business. With all my documentation in hand, I went to the NJ BON office in Newark to try and clarify my misinterpretation stating, that I have never held a professional license or certificate of any kind, only a registered business. Of course no one from disciplinary was available to actually speak with, so I just had them make copies to add to my file. I feel so stupid. This is what happens when you read too much into a question. And I should have caught my mistake when I did not have a licesnse or certificate number to list. So now I have a job that I have already completed 2 days or orientation to and no license. I can't even be on the floor without it and have no idea just how long this process will take. Most of the people I have spoken to at NJ BON are not the nicest or sympathetic in any way shape or form. So now I just wait. Ugh!!!
