Getting licensure in NJ when holding a NY license

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

I recently passed the boards and hold a New York State license but would like endorsement to NJ licensure. I have searched online and was unable to get any information about the process or what the steps are that need to be followed to achieve this. If there is anyone out there who may have done this recently and knows the steps I need to take I would really appreciate a step by step on this. Thanks

I hold NY licensure. I want NJ. The link you posted brought me to NY's webpage.

Hi Silverdragon102.. I would like to ask if you have an idea about the authorization to release information for CES. I am the applicant and still here in the philippines, however, I would like to authorized my fiance since he's only in NJ, I think that way communication with cgfns will be easier especially if there will be delays in processing.. but I wonder if I can just put his name, contact number and mailing address in the authorization form, then put my e-mail add. Meaning e-mail correspondences will still be sent to me, and mails to him. Do you think it's a good idea? Will cgfns allow that? Thank you. :)

I am not sure how it works when authorising someone else as I did all mine from the UK. I would image it would work but I can't say for definite

Thank you. Anotherr question, what is I send my secondary transcripts with my sealed envelope from college? I mean, I'll put the sealed envelope in a larger envelope where my secondary transcripts are.. to minimize cost and to be sure that nothing will be lost or missed, but I wonder what sender name will I use when I send it through fedex.. if its the school or my name.. :)

Don't put the school name, put your own name. Especially since you will be including transcripts from two different schools, it may be construed as trying to be deceptive. If your transcripts are officially sealed by the school (often a wax seal on the envelope flap to show evidence of tampering) then there is no reason to not put your own name on the sender. Fed Ex may give you a difficult time in this day & age of fraudulent transactions if you attempt to send as a school when you are not a representative of a school.

oh ok, thank you so much beachy nurse. :) But will CGFNS accept that? Even if the sender's name is not the school? since they want the document to be sent directly from school.

Then you need to have the school send the documents not give you a sealed copy. I'm not an internationally educated nurse so I have not had to personally deal with CFGNS. Perhaps you can pay for the school to send the documents via trackable source like Fed Ex.

It can be considered fraudulent if you write the school's address on the envelope and send it yourself. You may be questioned if you send the documents within the US yet complete the return address from overseas...

The board of nursing in NJ is becoming more stringent with applications for nursing license by examination and endorsement. As of earlier this year they will no longer accept PN programs completed in countries that do not recognize a LPN license (such as the Filipino practical nursing programs since LPN is not a credential recognized in the Philippines).

Thank you very much for the info. :)
