Cooper Interview??

How long until you find out if you are hired? It has been a week and their policy is not to discuss application status over the phone. Should I wait it out and be patient or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Is the position still posted online? If so, it may be an open position that interviews will be held for. Most times, internal candidates are given preference for posted positions, but interviews will also take place for external candidates to increase the employer's pool of qualified candidates.

Knowing in advance that you cannot receive notification over-the-telephone, do not call HR. In my opinion, attempting to contact HR one week after an interview shows interest in the position; however, some HR personnel may find it annoying calling a day or so after said interview.

It is a delicate balance of showing initiative by phoning HR, yet exhibiting patience by allowing HR time to make their decision.

I know. I just hate the waiting game. I feel like I spent all my time in school and now it's impossible to get a job. I'm hoping for the best, but we'll see how it goes. Thanks for your help and I will use your advice and refrain from calling in the future. Here's the thing. The HR(Nurse recruiter) told me when orientation was, gave me a benefits package, copied my CPR card, told me how much parking came out of your paycheck, explained the union dues, also gave me a packet of papers that evaluate performance on the job over the life of orientation and as I was leaving said she needed to talk to the other nurse recruiter to find a floor for me and said she'll be in contact...??...so to me it sounded good. What do you think?

Did you get scheduled for your work physical and drug screening? Did she mention your background and job reference checks?

No, she didn't say anything about that. I worked there before as a pool nurse associate, and she said, Well, you already know So and So (meaning the Director of Nursing) and I said yes. The truth is, I never applied to a specific position. My Aunt knows someone on their Board and gave them my resume and the very next day I was called to schedule an interview.
