I was wondering if any one has attending the Capital Health School of Nursing. Any information you could provide would be helpful.

Thanks

I am currently a student at Capital Health and I cannot say enough good things about them. I kinda stumbled onto their program while at MCCC, and I am so thankful that I did. What did you want to know?

I guess I was courious about the diploma program. Also what are you actually getting your degree in? Did you try to MCCC nursing program directly? I am currently registered at Brookdale and the wait for the nursing program is 2-3 years and I would really like to get into something sooner as I already have most of my prereq's already. I am really considering this school. Thank you. Lisa

You end up with a diploma in nursing from Capital Health School of Nursing and an Associates (I think in Liberal Arts) from Mercer County College. Originally I was set on Mercer's nursing program because I didn't want to go into Trenton every day, but I've heard 2-3 year wait lists for that. They won't tell you that at Mercer, but that's what I've heard, and they won't commit to a time on how long you might be waiting. I looked at Capital Health because of that, and I'm soooo glad I did. The Capital Health program is amazing. I feel like I'm learning a ton, and I believe Capital Health gives you more clinical hours than Mercer's nursing program would. Also, the nursing instructors I've had have all been wonderful! And it was much quicker to get in than Mercer's program. I still really don't understand that, because Capital Health also pays tuition (all I have to pay is "nursing fees"). I can't believe they don't have a wait list a mile long. Good luck to you. I'd encourage you to apply. It's an awesome school for nursing.

I was recently accepted into this program for fall of 2010..i also have a few questions.

Are all clinical's done at the hospital the nursing school is attached to? And are the courses extremely difficult? Also, how are tests formatted. Thank you very much for your time.:nurse:

Congrats on getting in. I can't answer your questions but I have a few for you. How long did the admissions process take? I submitted my application the other day, so I am starting the process. I would also like to take Sept 2010 classes so I am not sure how long it will take for the admissions process.

Thanks, Lisa

Hello its ok, im hoping the person that gave you alot of information is able to get back to me. So I actually submitted my application January 11th or 12th..and got my letter on the 27th. It was so fast I didnt believe it at first. I just had my appointment Tuesday to confirm acceptance and she did have a hefty stack of applications on her desk, but who knows maybe it will still go as fast. I hope for you that it does. What is your gpa and your net scores? I'll let you know if they are better than mine and then you can see maybe where you stand :) Im very pleased because i don't have the greatest GPA in the world but i guess they were able to look past that. Looking forward to hearing back from you and who knows maybe we can go into this together!

Kelly,

I also submitted my application to Capital mid January and haven't heard a thing yet. Do you have a 'private' email I can use to send you some questions? Hopefully I'll be joining you in Sept. 2010. Congratulations!

Kelly,

Did they get all of your transcripts before they called you or did they call before that? I tried to call a couple of times but I have not been able to get in touch with the person who handles admissions. I am going to try again. I have a BA already so I am not sure if all the same things will apply. I befriended you through here so maybe we can keep in contact.

Understandable. Did you hear from CHNS by email/snail mail? Do you need an interview and to take the NET test? Did they give you any notice of timeframes for others to hear?.....Thanks a lot, and again Congrats!:)
